I know you guys have said over and over again that you will not change a name to one that's already in the DB, no matter how old it is even if it has NO POSTS and has shown no activity in over 4 years ( ;) )

Any reason why besides the anticipated and obvious "because we don't"? Just curious...

Well Matt was taken. And you shouldn't talk, you've probably changed your name about a half dozen times now.

Don't do that.

well, it needs to be said...

<<<OWNED>>>

That's cool. Just thought I'd ask. Being as how every person is only supposed to have one nic, it seemed to me that if you wanted a nicK w/ no posts, was banned (maybe both), and a few other possibilities/combinations (permission from person via email address on file w/ that nick) that maybe it should be allowed. Having "so many members" signed up is great and the number looks cool, but if it's not an actual contribution to the forums/site then it's just a silly number.

Thx everybody.

Bottom line : if we do agree to change your name, it will not be acceptable to ask us to change it to an existing name. It's obvious why - asides from the fact that it would be unfair on that other party, we've many people who sign up just for the perk of signing up - they might not post.

    • The level of stupidity at Google and Microsoft is beyond belief. All they are doing by killing this is forcing people to jump over to Firefox and ditch them all together, therefore giving Firefox the market boost it needs to finally crush them all in the end.
