Anyone else having this problem..it seems to be coming from the UMD bay...what should I do?

OMG..dude..i jst opened up the UMD bay and shook it to see if anything was wrong.. a friggin dead roach fell out.. Im calling sony RIGHT NOW!!

Obviously the roach came from sony's factory or the PSP box...I don;t have roaches in my house.

Im just worried now cause I threw out the box...No way in hell im keeping that around here. this whole thing is disgusting..i dont even want a new psp..i want my money back.

i already said..the roach is gone..I flushed it. Why would I keep a friggin roach on my desk???

he could have kept the roach in the same bag as the psp since its already dead. and he didn't find it until 3 days later? my BS meter is chiming.

Best Buy has them for $59.99 this week too!!!

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?Ca...t&ref=10&loc=01

Speaking of Best Buy, how much does Employees of Best Buy get a PSP?

$199?

How much for a 512MB? $35?

I KNOW Best Buy Employees get DEEP discounts!

Gamesharing is not available on any of the launch titles

In the 2nd pic those do look like 2 dead pixels.

I want to bring a few things to everbdys attention here..

1. If your PSP had a dead pixel(s) in a few months or a year would you all go and return it? I would hope so since SOME of you think its TOTTALY unnaceptable to ever have one. I can understand at launch and out of the box, but i think some of you need to wait and acutally play some games before you return it.

2. We are all stuck on this dead pixel topic but havent considerd any of the other launch problems.

Did anybdy notice the L button sticking?

yeah, it sticks a bit. no biggie though

I just got a PSP at Costco for 320, it came with Twisted Metal Head On and NBA.

Are there any problems that I should look for on my PSP? I haven't found any dead pixels, but there was a tiny speck of dust, though that's okay. Also, I don't really want the NBA game, is there any way for me to bring it somewhere and exchange it for another game? It's unopened.

boys and girls... :p

have any of you played Metal Gear AC!D? if so, what do you think of if? I'd seen soooooooooooooo many different opinions about it that I don't know what to think now... :p

also, what do you think about Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade?

FYI, I don't like racing games (RR looks nice but that?s about it for me) or sports games (Mario tennis and top spin for me is more than enough) cuz I just want to make sure I get the right games for me when I place the order for my PSP on Monday.

thanks!:happy:y::yes:s:

    • Hello, Christian Maas' XVI32 is a nice (and very small) hex editor. Speaking of hex editors, many years ago a colleague and I who both worked at Tribal Voice managed to edit a copy of the company's PowWow instant messaging client to make it behave better now that all of its lookup servers and other server-side tech was gone.  The program didn't support NAT (RFC-3022 was introduced in January 2001, the same time Tribal Voice was shuttered), but it still worked okay if you manually set up port-forwarding on your router.  The server at http://powwow.jazy.net/ hosts a copy (usual warnings about downloading and running untrusted code from random internet servers apply). I occasionally use some tools like Funduc Software's Search and Replace and Application Mover when I need to make mass-edits to text-based files or move programs with a hard-coded installation directories, respectively.  When I need to figure out the exact LCD panel inside of a laptop, EnTech Taiwan's Monitor Asset Manager is my go-to tool for that purpose. JD Design's website (now hosted on github.io) has a number of interesting freeware and shareware utilities.  I used to use their TouchPro utility to set the file timestamps on software I was mastering to match its version number (e.g., version 3.00 of a program had all of its files dates set to 3:00AM, and so forth). Karenware has a number of interesting freeware utilities, too. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • I still use HexChat! Not really as ancient as the 1994 AutoCAD above my post, but I have never found anything better to replace it. Yes we still operate an IRC server https://www.neowin.net/irc/ 😛
    • At work we still have a couple of people that use a version of AutoCAD LT purchased in 1994. This predates Windows 95 and works fine on versions of Windows up to XP. Its long since run in an locked down isolated XP VM, accessible via RDP. I did install LibreCAD for them, however they said it was just too different to get to grips with. In all fairness one of them is now 75 and the other is almost 60.
    • On my music making (non internet) PC Sony Acid Pro 7.0 Adobe Audition 2015 Korg Legacy Collection Windows 7 SP1
    • Anyway to download these versions without being on the Experimental builds?
