[Definitive] Sony PSP Thread

Recommended Posts

OMFG I am SO ****ed! I try to take care of my PSP by putting it in the case that they give you and it SCRATCHES my entire system! The inside lip is a little rough and it scrapes right across the system when you put it in and left a huge scratch right across the entire screen. I know it was the case cuz the scratch goes right along with the angle you put it in the case. Im am so upset it's not even funny. So much for me protecting it :-( Worst thing is EB doesn't have any more psp's so I can't return it yet. I called Sony and they said send it in but odds are they will say I did this and all it's gonna do it waste my time.

I just got mine yesterday and I think I some faint scratch like marks on mine and nothing has even touched the screen other than the sleeve that comes with it but the type of scratch is really odd. It is like three dots close to each other were lightly scratched on the top surface of the screen in a diagonal motion in random areas, very hard to see but I know it is there o0.

When I called Sony the girl said they had a lot of complaints about the PSP being scratched right out of the box. Unfortunatly that's not the case for me so they prolly wouldn't replace mine. Maybe yours was scratched at the factory. Try returning it.

eb's warranty covers everything, right? even if you break it accidentally?

i have a couple stuck pixels, but they only show up on a white picture. i also have what seems to be like a little dimple in the screen, almost like it got pricked by a needle. it's different than the things that look like dead pixels. although, i don't even really know what stuck pixels look like on this, since it's so much different from a large lcd screen.

so nobody knows anything about game sharing games?

also, any recommendations for a good case?

Yeah, NOT the one it comes with lol. (Still ****ed about it btw) I like the look of those metal ones but I don't know how good they are.. Seems a bit bulky to carry around. I really haven't seen any cases that made me want to buy it yet.

JediXAngel probably means the onscreen one, yes it's a bit of a pain.

Noticed the content download feature in Wipeout Pure seems to be a web browser (right trigger goes forward, left back, you can go to the home page, etc).  Can't pull up an address bar though...

Yeah On Screen, of course.

That is exactly what mine looks like bout the dimple thing, except I have like 8 or 10 random areas where there are rows of 3 of them spaced out in about 1mm from each other diagonally. I can't see it unless I look at it in certain extreme angles. So I am not sure it worth the risk taking it back incase of dead pixels, much rather have something I can't see AT ALL during viewing of a game or movie versus annoying dead pixels.

OMG me too! It ****ed me off but the scratches were'nt that big (there's two small, almost parallel). Dont know if its from the case of out of the box. And the worst is that I bought a screen protector. Doesn't matter though, in 11 month I predict I will drop it accidentally (it'll cover accidental damage right?) and use my EBGAmes PRP to get a brand new one :D :D

I got the pelican screenguard... well its very nice... you CANNOT see its on the screen - though one bad thing about it, it makes ur psp screen a bit fuzzy in a way but it not too bad. Also. if you put it on wrong ur going to regred it, because i put it wrong took it off and right away i had dust on the plastic and i couldnt get rid of it. I still put it on but ill get a new one for sure.

so what do you all guys think of your brand new psps?

what you expected? better?

What are the folder structure on the memory card?

585672611[/snapback]

1) First create a MP_ROOT directory.

2) Inside the MP_ROOT directory create the 100MV01 directory.

3) Outsde of the MP_ROOT directory create the PSP directory.

4) In the PSP directory create the MUSIC, PHOTO and SAVEDATA folders.

SIDE NOTES

The 100MNV01 folder contains your .MP4 video files and .THM files (in the format above).

The MUSIC contains your .MP3 files.

The PHOTO folder contains your Jpeg photos.

The SAVDATA folder contains your game saves.

Anyone beat and games yet? We at PSPSaves.net are awaiting submittions.

Oh please do not modify any files or add anything as they will be disapproved. Thanks

Also we have a Everything unlocked save for Twisted Metal if you are interested (Play the Tower Tooth Challenge!)

Gotta love that PRP... Especially when EB tells you it's fine to break things and use them as frisbees just to test their policy

    • Of course the problem was Secure Boot's new certificates. Install media created by the official Media Creation Tool is already signed with a valid certificate from Microsoft, so maybe that certificate isn't "up-to-date" enough for machines with the new ones installed in the UEFI. There's really no other logical explanation.
    • Here is how I fixed Windows 11 not booting after clean installation by Taras Buria Story time. A couple of weeks ago, I experienced a very odd thing with my computers. I was trying to reinstall Windows 11 on my primary device, and everything was going smoothly until the installer performed the first restart. After that, my computer entered the boot disk selection screen instead of continuing the setup process. Huh, that's odd, said I, and selected Windows Boot Manager only to see it fall back into the same screen right away. Then I tried booting from the USB drive with the same result—the PC kept returning to the boot device selection screen, and removing the drive would send my PC to UEFI, again, with no way to launch Windows 11. I fired up my spare laptop, which has been sitting unused for quite a while, to see if I am dealing with a defective USB drive. Nope, Windows 11 installed and started without issues. After trying another drive and checking all the possible settings in UEFI, I decided to try disabling Secure Boot. Lo and behold, Windows 11 started as it should have been in the first place, continued the setup process, and reached the initial setup screen. Victory! After I finished the setup and applied all updates, I re-enabled Secure Boot, and Windows 11 started without issues. Some time later, I tried reinstalling Windows 11 on my laptop only to experience similar issues, with UEFI claiming a Secure Boot violation. I checked whether the drive works on my main PC, and yes, it installed Windows 11 without errors. I scratched my head, went to UEFI, turned off Secure Boot, and installed Windows 11 without issues. After that, I enabled Secure Boot. Note: I used the official Media Creation Tool app for my USB drive. Also, UEFI was properly configured for Windows 11, including no Legacy Mode, a GPT-partitioned drive, and TPM and Secure Boot enabled. From my experience, if you are dealing with similar symptoms, I recommend two things: If you use old Windows 11 install media, create a new one with the latest Windows 11 release, especially if you know your PC already has the latest Secure Boot certificates. If you cannot create a new one, turn off Secure Boot, complete the installation, download all available updates, and then re-enable Secure Boot in UEFI. Note that you need to turn off Secure Boot after installing Windows 11. Otherwise, the installer won't run, claiming a hardware requirements mismatch. I believe the problem hides in Secure Boot certificates that expire this month. Microsoft is currently rolling out new certificates, and maybe a mismatch was causing these issues for both of my systems. I am out of my depth to make a definitive statement; this article is flagged as "Opinion," as I only share my experience and some tips on how to fix the problem. If some of you possess deeper knowledge and understanding of the situation, please share it in the comments. As for everyone else struggling with computers not booting after a clean install, the two steps above should get you out of the pickle.
    • I gave the tool a chance the other day to make a USB. An hour later it was stuck at 0% downloaded. I downloaded the official ISO, downloaded Rufus, and made the USB myself in 15 min.
    • <Moved to software discussion and support> I've got fond memories of Winamp. Changing the skins, the different visualisations etc. But now I just need a simple music player. MSN messenger would be another one, MSN Messenger Plus (I think?) offered so many different plugins. But again, it probably wouldn't work for me these days. And then there is miRC. i think it's still going these days, but lord i had fun with that back in the day. Now it's mostly stuff like Discord, WhatsApp group chats, Signal, Telegram... /me is showing his age...
