Brandon
I normally have my 2500+ at 2.16GHz (12x180), but at that it idles at 48C... ive found using Nvidia's System Utility i can underclock to 1596MHz (133x12) which is about 600MHz lower... which is fine for surfin and stuff (haha it becomes a 2000+ again) anyways, it idles at 41C then with my case fans at 5% (speed fan) is that okay if i do that? AJerman
As long as it's stable, go for it. You don't have to worry about the issue of heat. If you could change the multiplier, you could just call it speedstep ;). Your only issue is whether it's too slow for you or not, other than that you're fine.
