ndiswrapper problem

I'm a bit stuck to windows 32bit. Help me out to get to lin32 until I'll get simple network (then to lin64, but thats another story)

Here's my problem. I have mixed ubuntu warty + hoary setup with their 2.6.9 k7 kernel. Tried to compile module from source, but it fails to modprobe; says "invalid module format" Anybody know any workaround? Might I be doing something in a wrong way?
