I'm getting popups from neowin

Recommended Posts

Ok lets not go through this whole "I don't get them" or "I get them on FF" stuff again. The popups more then likely are coming from a certain banner advertisement. Not everyone gets this advertisement everytime they go to neowin. They may never get the advertisement depending on how the add scheme is set up.

I posted just to notify the mods, admins, and coderators (can't leave them out). Not to start a discussion about who gets them and who doesn't and also with what browser they use.

You have gator on your "spyware ridden computer".  Look for it.

Edit: Atleast thats where the portal is coming from.

The portal is coming from Gator but there is no trace of Gator on my computer. It is coming from a add on the page. This has happened before and the admins fixed it.

I posted this here to give the admins the info they needed to look into it. I am not complaing about it but would like them to know it is still happening.

Just in case it matters at this point, I also just got the popup from the very same blinking banner ad at the top. I'm not really upset or anything, because I know it's not Neowin's fault. I'm mostly saying it just in case anything is being done about it to say that it is still coming up once in a while. I got it twice in the last week. That is all.

I have got the same popup 3 times in the last 2 days. firefox blocked them, so I'm not worried about it. the ad wants you to claim a prize for being a "winner".

    • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Flip 8, Z Fold Wide: Everything you need to know The ONLY thing I need to know is the price, which I know will be way higher than I (and most people) are willing to pay for a phone... so basically nothing here I need to know. PS: Nice job getting that Apple reference to a non-existent and unrevealed product as "competition" in there. Cheque is in the mail.
