I just started using the mailing thing for neowin for a daily and weekly digest. For the forum subscription, I have to say i'm pretty dissapointed as there are no links to the actual topics, so if i want to say something i have to go to the forum and find the topic and then post...

also, it displays the whole first post, i think there should be a limit or something as topics like the super tweaking file and the freeware list of software are extremely long posts...

just my 2 cents :)

Well, wouldn't it be a good idea if some1 couldn't post a thread with the same title and the same person creating it within let's say a 1 hour period? I think it is possible to right this in to the website's code. Most double threads are because of a mistake or neowin error rather than doing it on purpose... so what do u guys think?

yay for me and my thread just for my own suggestions :o

i was think that for the Cursors, Icons & Wallpapers forum, it would be great to either split them up or to be able to sort via cursor/wall/icon. I realize that the search can be used for this but it would be better if, upon posting the user would check a box for which type of theme they were posting and then users could organize first by cursor/wall/icon and then by date and then by...

Theres a limit to how far down we want to split the forums, we dont want to make it difficult for members to find stuff by browsing 4 forums to get to where they want to be.

So far it works like it is and when it gets to uncomfortable we do a shuffle which is normally welcomed by the members.

So in a nutshell we watch closely at how the forums operate and are on top of anything that nmeeds attention (where warranted).

ok neobond, u da boss

anyways, i was wondering if we could also lower the amount of votes needed for the ratings, this way ppl would see a thread's rating faster and they would either agree or disagree: chances are ppl would vote again and ... it would work out better with more threads rated

also, i was wondering if the numbers in my assistant could be made bigger from 10 as neowin is expanding and so on...

finally, when u click on new posts or active posts on top, its two different searches but on the top left it says clearly: neowin>posts since your last visit for both of them ;)

sigh, this is what happens when you put everything in one thread, imagine i divided all of this in seperate threads, i'd get ten times more answers but every1 would be saying "y not 1 thread?"

if a mod wants, they can rename it to something like "slimy's lame suggestions" :p - ahh anyways, i really think the thread rating idea is a good one, make it like 3!!!

when you go into a subforum like Neowin Related Discussion, it would be nice to see which mods are online and which aren't...

also, don't know where I mentioned this before, but when a mod moves or renames a thread you created, could the bolded title of the thread be a link to it instead? i think this would be some simple code changing for the automated message? correct me if i'm wrong :)

    • You are clueless. The updates are done in the background so the next time you open Edge the updates are applied automatically. There is no need to close all your tabs. Just keep browsing like you normally do. Clearly you don't use Edge and are just one of those haters that complain for the sake of complaining.
    • I don't get this David. Can you explain it please.
