Dead Messiah
When I have a program open, doesn't matter what program, and I tell it to open a file and the Windows open window comes up all my icons for my files are back wards (reversed alphabetically). I can tell it to arrange icons by name and it'll work, but if then I hit cancel and try it again they're back to being back wards. I just noticed this today so I did a system restore for a week ago and it's still there. I ran Windows Update - no updates found. My icons in the folders and my folders are fine, just in the 'open' window. Does anyone know what's going on and/or how to fix it? Thanks in advance. k22
i would recommend either... 1 - doing what you already described and actually opening a file instead of cancelling or 2 - change to detail view and make sure you are sorting by name and clicking the name heading to make sure that you are sorting ascending instead of descending and then actually opening a file. if the problem is just icon centric (which it seems to be on 2nd look) you could try refreshing the icon cache http://www.tweakxp.com/tweak1255.aspx or http://www.windowsnetworking.com/kbase/Win...nWindowsXP.html btw nice sig Edited December 29, 2004 by k22
