How to clean LCD

I just use ditilled water and a cloth or paper towel. People say don't use a paper towel, but seems okay to me as long as you use it softly.

I use a sock (the newer, the better) and a mixture of Rubbing alcohol and water

(2 parts water, 1 part alcohol)

It works wonders. Just make sure you dab the sock in the formula and rub it on.

I use one of my little brothers face-wipe things. dont know what its got in it.. but it works a treat.

Has anyone ever cracked open a CRT? The amount of dust that accumulates is absolutely amazing! -DAMN STATIC :angry: . One of the advantages of LCDs is you dont have all the mountains of dust hiding in the back of it - screwing up all the connections.

I read that alcohol can dry the lcd over time and lead to (hairline) cracks.

Edit : Now I just read that Apple recommend diluted alcohol.... "diluted isopropyl alcohol, no more than a 50% solution"

Thats why it is mixed with water :-D

I've been using it on my LCDs for over 3 years now, and I have no cracks. Just a crystal clean LCD!

alcohol? whakk. NEVER use alcohol on lcds. lunamonkey is right. use "a little tiny small amount bit really little small amount of water" and a damp cloth or something soft.
