When I posted this most of the Active Topics page was filled with polls, and all of the polls of the first page of the polls forum had been posted in in the last two hours. Not tha t there's anything wrong with that, but many probably should've been in respective specific forums - like software discussion, etc.

What would be nice is for each user to be able to config somehow which forum areas showed up when you searched for new/active post. That way areas you didn't have much interest in wouldn't display.. like ignor. You could select ignor poll station. Anyone else think this would be great??

You can! On the main search link up at the top, you just hold down the control key and select the different forums you want to search... all you have to do is select the main headings for all the other categories, and then make sure that poll station is not selected itself nor its parent heading

Yea I know you can select which topics you search, I was talking about getting NEW post only. or active post. I tried this anyway just to see. I went to the search selected certain topics then hit new and other topics still showed up. So either you misunderstood or it doesn't work like you think, or it didn't for me.

Yeah that would be great. Like a default personal setting.

Some stupid **** went through like 2 months worth of polls last night making a retarded comment in each.

I remember that. Isn't that what spurred on the post count locking on the polls & general disc.?

the poll station should be for poll that don;t fit into another subforum, technical computer polls should be left in hardware hangout for exambple, since the people that frequent that subforum are the most likely to know the correct anwser and give a better answer to the poster, however, if it is a poll like, which do you prefer, rather tha a poll like "which one should i buy" then it should be moved to the poll station

just my thoughts on the subject

    • Not such a great deal, Ultimate, which gives you full 5080 features is $181.99 CAD per month, that's $2183.88 per year, I can buy the 5080 for $1809.99 CAD, then it goes up to $279.99 per month after the first billing cycle. Typical cloud rental, costs more than buying the hardware.

    • Get used to this, with AI tooling now uncovering new vulns and getting them exploitable far faster than has ever been possible before software is going to need to be updated far more frequently. Back in the day it may take reseachers weeks or months to do what AI can now do in hours. Once its a threat is discovered it's weaponsized far more quickly, meaning you simply can't be waiting 2, 3, 4 weeks to deploy a patch, it needs to be patched immediately. Going to be interesting handling this in the enterprise space where traditionally patching has been steady, but very staged (and rightly so up until now), that is going to have to change.
    • You don't need to "close all browser sessions constantly" or wait for updates to install. The updates download in the background while you use the browser, without interrupting you, they install automatically the next time you launch the app. And they install very fast (depending on your storage speeds, of course), you have to wait at most 2-3 extra seconds, if any. Seems like you haven't used Edge in a loooooooong time...
