Philips HDD100/120 hard reset?

Anyone know if it's possible to do this? I know how to just reset it, but it has loads of songs on it, and I want rid of them all.. Plus it isnt being recognised by my PC anymore (worked the first time and I think I buggered it up somehow).

If not, is there anything I can do, because if it isnt recognised by my PC, then I cant upgrade the firmware either.
