Best way to rip audio to mp3 from a DVD?

I got a few audio DVDs that I want to rip to mp3. How can I do this and still retain the good quality of the DVD?

dvd2avi..it will rip the audio as a wav then you can convert it using any old convertor (cdex/eac/audiograbber etc)

put dvd in drive, start dvd2avi / file-open / navigate the the .vob file you want to rip audio from, under audio, change the output method to .wav then go to file and save project, name it anything then press save. the wav file/s will be in the folder you saved your project. From there on in it's pretty simple to learn the rest.

Fraunhofer's MP3 Surround might be the way to go. It was just released today, so I haven't had a chance to try it yet since I'm still at work. You'd have to rip the AC3 to WAV first, then do WAV to MP3 Surround.

for multichannel, you may as well leave it in ac3 format.

All I get is a very short wav file that now skips badly on playback.

If you notice in the menus, there an option to select which chapter you are ripping the audio from.

Experiment, it may take longer to get the answer you want, but you'll learn how to do a whole lot more in the journey.

Lots of direct DVD to mp3 rippers out there and free trials available for most.

Many are two or three click processes with more customising options available and most are pretty user friendly. Doh! Try which suits your taste and have fun !
