what file system do PVR use?

is it possible to take the HDD out, plug it in PC, and just transfer the recorded shows.

It is a propritary files system that computers won read.

I got a replaytv and i can see the HD over the network and transfer files, so yes. *.mpg files about 2gb per hour in length

I tried to read the HD but, no go. Its a 200gb western digital and windows only sees 135gb of garbage.

just cancelled dish, and will be getting dish again (cancelled because they wouldn't give me HDTV box for free, now they will)
