Honestly, they both suck. 'V8 Supercars' competition just makes hype that both of these are good brand cars. In reality, they are just regular quality cars, more expensive than what they're worth, and generally more inefficient than other manufacturers.

When I was shopping around for a new car, the Ford salesman's major selling point was that "It's a Ford", and the Holden salesmen was strutting around in Holden V8 supercar polotops, not actually helping genuine buyer such as myself thinking that the cars sell themselves because they are Holden.

The only real selling point is uniqueness that they are cars specific to Australia (and NZ and Saudi Arabia), but that's null and void because both companies are American owned anyway.

well the only US Holden is the new GT0 which looks like a gradPrix and needs a retuned 350hp ls2 to match a 320hp mustang that you can get or 3k cheaper, or spend 2k more and get a Cobra and make the GTO look stupid.

For the price of the Holden "GTO" you can get better cars. It doesnt impress me any.

Price------Car--------1/4 Mile---HP----Engine size

30k Mustang Mach1: 13.2------320----4.6l

33k Pontac GTO: ----13.2------400----6.0l

35k Mustang Cobra: 12.8------390----SC 4.6l

wow quick reply i could rip apart jus about everything u said but i wont cause its about to rain and im not risking me pc. the only thing which i agree is they are both owned by general motors.

who's owned by GM? I know Holden is, but Ford is its own company who owns 7 other car companies.

I voted Ford, sadly the GTO here in the US is just crap.. it looks like any other Pontiac car and there are tons of cars that can out perform it and also cost less.

WTF where are you people getting these ideas that GM owns Ford?

Ford owns:

Lincoln

Mercury

Land Rover

Volvo

Jaguar

Aston Martin

Mazda

and bout 25% ownership of Kia.

GM is made up of.

Chevrolet

Pontiac

Buick

Oldsmobile (believe it or not it is still alive)

Cadillac

Saturn

GMC

Hummer

saab

Opel

Holden

... and that's all i know.

On the american side i can tell you from experience that Ford cars are built better than GM cars.

Maybe you don't know about them but they are a much improved version of their regular versions. Designed for Racing. Much like you rice up your own cars in NFS Underground. My parents has a Ford Falcon XR6 and I would say it's a lot more powerful than the regular BA builds. My parents's car's engine has 24 cyclinders (Dad told me) where as the regular version would only have 6. So the V8 Supercars are more powerful than my mum's and dad's car.

I'd go for Ford because I always know they are reliable. :D

ROFL  24 cylinders  are you sure its not 24 valves?

V8 = 8 cylinders

V6 = 6 cylinders

    • There is a lot of reasons not to use Edge but faster fixes and security updates is not one of them.
    • Can't reproduce. I installed Edge, went to neowin.net > accepted the cookie consent > used menu to go to forums, everything loads and I can browse around the forums. If you can't interact with the dialog on the forums for some reason, go to the main site and accept the cookie consent there? It is true that the site will not function properly until the cookie consent is accepted or rejected,. it's a legal requirement and I also know that certain VPN/ad blockers block it, which is a user related issue and not a neowin.net problem.   This is not our cookie consent dialog. Gotta love browser hijacking... /s Edit: this may be what Californians see, I will confirm with our consent provider.
