I voted Ford. Mainly because of their latest models (the XR6 Turbo and such) and because I own one :p

And I agree that non Australians shouldnt be voting, firstly because during my overseas experience I noticed that there is an incredible difference between the American and Australian Fords, the fords here are Aussie built and are nothing like the American ones, Also Although Holdens are rebadged as Cheverolette's in most non Australian countries like Saudi Arabia they still seem to have far less models especially those performance models known as the HSV's here in Australia which is a shame really becasue I know the Saudis would love such cars and theyd sell like pancakes.

I voted Ford.

I was watching one of these races recently on Speed Channel and one of the drivers hit a kangaroo that was crossing the track. Did anyone else see it? That thing really flew after getting hit.

Yes, that was crazy! I've seen rally videos where they've hit cows, and stone walls, but that kangaroo went like, 30 feet in the air! :o

Maybe you don't know about them but they are a much improved version of their regular versions. Designed for Racing. Much like you rice up your own cars in NFS Underground. My parents has a Ford Falcon XR6 and I would say it's a lot more powerful than the regular BA builds. My parents's car's engine has 24 cyclinders (Dad told me) where as the regular version would only have 6. So the V8 Supercars are more powerful than my mum's and dad's car.

I'd go for Ford because I always know they are reliable. :D

Not really. You're still stuck with some variation of a V8 engine to work with as a base. Ford certainly makes some good V8 engines, but IMO Ford has never made a very good tuned V8 car themselves (Mustang Cobra, maybe, but they've messed that up enough times to make me not like it). I'm not familiar with what the Holden group runs, over here they get the LS1 and (now) LS2 engines, aluminum, and are amazingly great engines. Le Mans winning kind of engines.

In short, I'd go with Holden, although it's mostly because the only foreign Ford I've ever liked is the Cosworth.

Not really a car person, but Ford's ads are lame, IMO - which makes them funny, and I like it. So I voted for FORD.

What!? That's just stupid (like Ford's ads). You must be an Asian car fan

Yeah, but you yanks don't have the Holden Commodore (Holden's flagship vehicle down here). The Holden vs Ford debate here in Australia really does focus more on Ford Falcon vs Holden Commodore.

Indeed! If Ford made more Australian designed cars, I'm sure they'd be a lot more popular here.

I vote Holden because they were at one stage truly Australian! Nothing beats the image of the adverts for the FJ's and FX's. Go those stubby shorts and VB singlets! They produced the aussie icon Sandman Panel Van - shagging wagon. The One Tonne ute. The holden red motor is classic simple holden engineering at its best. There designs, besides the VN-VS range, have always been ahead of Ford. They also put a lot of work into concept cars like the Monaro and Torana etc. Those reasons alone make them a lot more leading edge then Ford.

Nowadays they run Chevy engines or Vauxhaul cars rebaged or Opel cars. But they still hold that aussie genius that aussie innovation and class that is just so privalent in the Monaro.

DarkMindsProject

ahead? dude our(usa) grandPrix has looked like that for like 4yrs over here lol

And how think we've had the Monaro for? The Monaro is based on the same chasis that was built for the 1997 release of the VT Commodore. It was a concept car at the 1998 melbourne auto show and released a few years later.

Quick Reply

Honestly, they both suck. 'V8 Supercars' competition just makes hype that both of these are good brand cars. In reality, they are just regular quality cars, more expensive than what they're worth, and generally more inefficient than other manufacturers.

I totally agree. Generally i think Holden and Ford are not as well engineered as other cars in the same price range especially if you want performance and quality.

I voted Ford.
