What do you drive?

Holy crap ! $733 for speeding ?  I hope you were going 240 kph !

In the states, you can just pay $75 and a lawyer will get it canceled for you - what about in Aus ?

Drivers go on tabloid style television shows and complain that it is all revenue raising.

Latest action shot of mine...

$700 for 7km/h? That's ridiculous.

And if that little circle represents where he was pointing the gun, I'd be contesting that. He pointed it at the edge of the bumper - which is a) sloped and b) very easy to get a misreading from.

LOL a Mazda 6 going up against a 6.3L AMG beast... stupid kids - never learn.  My car is just a G37, but I get a lot of dumb kids wanting to race usually in some little tuner wannabe.  The best was a kid in a 6 cyl Mustang.  I hate Mustangs with a passion (Trailer Park Ferrari) - and loved pulling away from that thing like crazy.  The G37 is quick for what it is, but I have no delusions, I would never race a 6.3L AMG.

I love the G37. Once I get my school loans paid off in the next year or so, I'll finally be able to pull the trigger on one.

Is there anything you don't like about it? I haven't really decided what year I want to get. It also looks like they changed the name from G37 to Q60, so I'm not sure if there are any other major differences.

Yeah, I don't know what the Mazda 6 was thinking. I've also had other people try: G37, IS350, Neon, Cobalt SS, STI/Evo's, E350, and more. It was nice knowing that the CLS 63 AMG could spank 99% of the cars that pulled up next to me :D

Fun fact: Even though it's called 63 AMG, my car came with a 6.2 L engine, not 6.3 L like the badge indicates. The 63 moniker is further misleading, because with the latest 63 AMG's, you get a 5.5 L Biturbo (minus the SLS). They're paying homage to the old 300 SEL 6.3. So, depending on what generation of 63 AMG you get, you might either have a 6.2 L NA v8 or a 5.5 L Biturbo v8. Both are excellent motors though!

It's because it's in the company name currently.  When it's issued as a commercial vehicle, it's 5 times the regular fine and no demerit points.  It's to make the company push for a driver to be named to reduce the fine.

I believe the circle on our camera is only to identify what car the camera software is tracking, so they can still issue a fine when there are more cars in the photo.

You will love the G37.  The only problems I have had were little insignificant issues that were problems for other G37 owners.  But the G37 owner's forum is great info when you need it.

If there was anything I didn't like is the tires.  They are wider in the back, so you cant rotate them - a small gripe really.  But overall, I'd have to say its a great car.  Very quick too.

I think 0-60 is in mid 5.0 sec range - pretty respectable for a sports sedan (I have the 4-dr)  and you can put on the cruise control @ 90 and fall asleep its so quiet and comfortable - which brings up another thing.  Its easy to go too fast, if you dont look @ speedo enough - many times I will think everyone else is going too slow - only to realize I am driving 20 over speed limit.  Stereo is great for stock - I think a 600W Bose...  its funny because when you crank up the bass it is enough to feel it on your hair.. :D

They really are just great little cars.  Be sure, if your car has fog lights, to swap them out for HID or LED.  The normal headlights are HID (they're great) and it looks ghetto with halogen fog lights :D - thats my only gripe LOL

Oh no kidding ?  Huh, I didnt know that.  I was next to one the other day and the exhaust note @ idle was pretty cool for a luxury car.

Excellent!  Thanks for the info.  I'm leaning towards the AWD 2-door.  The winters and ice suck here, so I figure AWD would be a good decision.  When I test drove a G37 about a year ago, the guy said they are almost a 50-50 weight balance, but I never checked if that was truthful.  If so, then maybe a set of Blizzaks would be sufficient in winter. The 4-door would also be a hell of a lot more convenient, but I like the smaller version for whatever reason.  The comfort and iconic sound are what have kept by attention for all these years.  That's also great that the Bose has some power to it.  Perhaps I won't have to install my sub and amp then.  That would save me from ripping half the damn car apart to run wiring, haha. :)  Soon!

Was in my G37 today & was trying to get a Mustang to mess around - basically I hate Mustangs and will take any opportunity I can to pick on one.  Then all of a sudden an M3 comes out from behind us and passes us both.  I had my foot on the floor - hauling at a pretty good clip and that thing drove right by !  I then let off the gas and drove normal - remembered I dont have a fast car and shouldn't be acting like I do. :/

Heh, the M3 is quite a car. I know what you mean - it was nice knowing when I had the CLS63, I could take out most cars (not that I condone street racing). With the 335i, I know it's a relatively quick car, but there are plenty of quicker cars. I'm really interested in the new M3/M4, and might get rid of my 335i for the M4. :woot: Unfortunately, the M3/M4 get pricey really fast, especially the way I want it optioned  I'm just waiting for Mercedes to release the successor to the C63. I wish they'd hurry up.

Saw a black 4-series today for the 1st time.  What was weird is it had the bulge in the hood so at first I thought it was an M4 - but when I saw the back - it didn't have the M insignia - it looked like it said 428 - but it looked like a beefy M3 - I liked it.

I drive a 2000 Toyota Corolla, Sandgrind Metallic paint. 166,500(ish) miles. Purrs like a kitten! Not a hotrod, but it gets me back and forth. :)

Putting a sound system in it. (Only had it a month) I've replaced the rear deck factory speakers with some pioneer 3-way 6-1/2's, waiting for Wally World to restock more before I replace my front door speakers. Factory head unit/CD/Cassette player. Sounds decent for now, but I'm heading toward a pair of 12" subs and an amp/capacitor combo in the near future. If I didn't have other bills to pay, it'd be done by now, but life...happens. :/  *censored*

These things just keep on running forever it seems. Not an exciting drive indeed, but the reliability is pretty insane.

Man, that's why I....oops! Almost forgot....Man, that's why I got one! Insane mileage can be put on one of these babies with minimal maintenance. They last for YEARS and YEARS. I saw my grandpa roll over almost 700,000 miles on his before he died, and you couldn't even tell! It made me believe in Toyota ever since, and I love 'em!

    • I think they still believe it but are realizing that those statements created massive backlash and impacted adoption. I personally think AI, if used regularly will give you back about 30% of your time if you are an “information” worker.
    • I don't have a problem with adverts, I not fond of the tracking. My main problem is when you have to keep clicking close to remove them before you can see anything On the site. The ones that keep updating and moving stuff around as they are different sizes are as bad. Neowin is not too bad with Adverts, but ones that keeps updating or have animation can be distracting when reading something, like the one showing now, about how much should I walk to lose weight. I realise sites need adverts to survive, but stop changing them every few seconds.
    • SQL Server Management Studio 22.7 brings "What's New" page, T-SQL formatting, and lots more by Usama Jawad SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) is the tool of choice for most developers working with SQL infrastructure and data. Microsoft recently released SSMS version 22, and in the past few months, it has been steadily releasing point upgrades to refine the integrated development environment (IDE). Now, it has released SSMS version 22.7.0 with a bunch of new features and interfaces. For starters, SSMS 22.7 has netted a native "What's New" page, which highlights the top features and bug fixes present in the latest release. However, Microsoft says that this page won't annoy you much as it will only show up each time you update SSMS, and once you dismiss it, it won't be shown again to you until the next release. Secondly, Microsoft has finally introduced T-SQL formatting inside SSMS. The good thing about this is that it does not require installing any additional components, as it is built into the native experience. All you have to do is right-click the query editor window and select Format SQL from the context menu. Additionally, you also have several customization options at your disposal, such as the ability to automatically place semicolons at the end of a statement, split clauses across multiple lines, and more. However, this capability is only in preview for now. Additionally, Microsoft has introduced a preview of Agent Mode, which allows the AI model to automatically perform complex workflows on your behalf. Furthermore, Agent Mode will operate in read-only mode by default, so that you don't have to worry about the AI model accidentally deleting your data. On a related note, Microsoft is finally allowing users to configure the execution context of GitHub Copilot. This can be controlled per database using the CONSTITUTION.md file, where you specify the user details for the agentic executor. You can find details about this and additional bugfixes in Microsoft's blog post here.
    • I only use 3 extensions in Zen. I don't need or want a ton of stuff in my browser i don't use.
    • I prefer to choose my own ad bockers, not what the browser seems to think I need. i remember the days when a browser was just that, now they try and be everything and add stuff in that not all of us want. I bet Brave is full of AI rubbish? I will stick with Zen, not perfect, but better than others.
