What do you drive?

Those M5 wheels that tsupersonic posted are awesome - Im no wheel connoisseur but those things are tough looking.

This just in -

Im selling everything I have and get a Tesla Model S P90D w/ LUDICROUS SPEED - gonna paint it plaid !

Congrats sir. I drove the normal P85 and I thought that was relatively quick (at least off the line). I have yet to drive the P85D, but I can imagine it's a big improvement over the P85. The new ludicrous mode sounds mental

I would love to own a Tesla. I just need somewhere to charge it  and the supercharger stations are far away.

Cant afford a $120,000 P90D - but I would like to drive one.

My next car will either be a new F150, or 2 year old CTS-V.

But we need to get a new house first, and my fiance is due for a new car before me - but I can dream ;)

My brother just got this:

post-508501-0-67290400-1437290516.jpg

2016 Explorer Sport w/ twin-turbo EcoBoost - pretty darn quick. (It looks tiny next to that monstrosity of an RV of theirs, but its a normal-size Explorer. (I think its 22" wheels)

He has a massive F250 Diesel as well. (bit of a redneck cowboy he is)

Yeah, the P90D should be fun. The new F150 is very nice, drove it at the Ecoboost challenge a month ago. I've never really driven a truck before (always been a passenger), but they are comfortable, and it's huge. CTS-V's are nice - I'm especially excited for the new one. Finally some competition for ze Germans. The new Explorers are nice - I drove a '16 at the Ford event. They look pretty aggressive for an SUV, and I am not a fan of the cop posers!

@thread - I still need to clean up the Mustang, and post pictures. Just haven't had time. I am still loving it after about 1.8k miles  I need to find a drag strip and some track time.

Normally if I am going to post about a BMW - it will be negatively.  I had a bad experience with one, they are historically not reliable, and the 3 series is made for teenagers - IMHO

But this M4 is awesome !

You're not the only one, I once bought a 525 lemon, lol the only thing that did work, was the self dipping rear view mirror....

But their new lineup, wow

Wow, that is a very busy car, not a fan. Love the duck tail though. My F30 was rock solid for the 2 years I owned it. Had zero problems, and spent $0 on it for repairs. The car was very quick for a entry sports sedan (0-60 in 4.5s), but I needed more power (and something less practical :)). The current 3 series imo is the best looking entry level sports sedan, best performing in class, and the technology in the car is way better than the competition. It may have gotten "softer" compared to the e36/e46 generations, but it is still better than anything in its class.

2005 Subaru Legacy GT. Love this car.

I absolutely love that generation of the Legacy, especially the 2.5 GT!

I wish the GT would come back. It is a more 'grown up WRX STI'. I am torn between keeping the car forever or jumping to a Impreza later on. For now it will definitely remain mine. We'll see how it ages.

Yeah, it definitely is a more mature WRX. The answer is both! Keep your current car, and get an Impreza! :)

I have a 2014 F150 Super Crew (so full 4 doors).  That's one of the things I love about it, it's got enough room for the 3 Kids + extra seat in middle of front, as well as 5'5" of bed space.. but it drives like a car.. albeit slightly longer and has to take curves a bit wider.

Gorgeous and such a clean bay to work in!

It certainly is! Although I let my specialist work on the car, they're more than happy to do the job though, as I always hear about how their mechanic looks forward to my car coming in for service :D

Here's a video I recorded real quick that was motivated by a "lesson learned" recently.  My pickup truck has a built-in voltage meter, and a built-in gauge check function to ensure the needle isn't stuck or anything.  My wife's car and my brother's car neither one have anything other than a battery light, which until recently, I had never seen come on in either vehicle.  About a month ago my brother was driving his car home and the car was running fine when the battery light came on.  Not 30 seconds after the battery light came on, his car was dead on the side of the road in the middle of the night, and I had to go pull him home with my pickup truck.  The "idiot lights" as I call them, are not the most reliable thing in the world.  The computer decides when to illuminate that light, and by then it could be too late.  If you know what you're looking at, a gauge can give you early warning signs before you get stranded a long way from home.

Anyway, I just thought I would share this video for all you car lovers out there.  If your car doesn't have anything other than a battery light, I would suggest getting something like this to let you know BEFORE your alternator gets too weak to get you back home.  I bought two of these, put one in my wife's car and gave one to my brother.

Look at it, just look :)

Looks sharp, :-)  A lot cleaner than mine will ever be.  I figure a little grease here and there just prevents rust, :p

That, and it would take for EVER to get mine back to looking like that.

I got the M4 and a Jeep Wrangler. M family?

Oof, must have set you back a few pennies that! Personally I've always been a fan of naturally aspirated blocks, it will take a long time for me to come down to wanting a turbo powered car when so many amazing N/A ones exist that I must try out beforehand! Plus the noise is nicer I guess :p

Thanks! I was lucky that it was quite clean when I got it, just needed some TLC on my end then dust it off once a week. If I can keep it this way for years to come, then such a modern classic will hold its value really well, if not appreciate slowly like the E36 M3 is doing currently.

I've had naturally aspirated V8's, and a turbo motor. Turbo motors can produce good noise (like an M157 AMG, or M178 AMG), but for the most part, they aren't that great when in stock form. It is hard to argue against a NA v8 though (especially a muscle car). I honestly don't have a preference, but I do love the torque way down low on turbo motors. I had a BMW w/ an N55 engine - 300+ ft-lb of torque at 1300 RPM? Yes please! It was an absolute blast for daily driving. There was also very minimal turbo lag despite being a single turbo setup.

Oh indeed the low down torque is undeniable. I drove the new F30 330D for the day recently (work) and off the mark it felt quicker than my M3 (S54), but the moment you reached mid range revs that was it, the power band was gone. In a petrol the revs are higher of course but the power band in an NA like the S54 lends itself well to the racy nature of the engine. My car produces all 338BHP at 7010rpm and max torque is at something like 5500rpm iirc, don't have the dyno sheet to hand but I much prefer the free revving nature of an NA really - Everyone has their preference I guess.  I just like working the engine and feeling the drama that creates through all senses.

The AMG turbos are different beasts. AMG know how to do it right, whereas BMW have to pump digitally generated engine sounds through the speakers to add some feeling from inside the cabin, which I could never accept, no matter how accurate it sounded!

Check these noises out :p

Nice, sounds good. Yeah, the N55 was easy to drive everyday because of all the low down torque, and got amazing gas mileage. I averaged about 34-37 mpg on the highway, and mid to high 20's in the city. Once you got past 5700 RPM, the power band didn't work in your favor. I now have a Mustang GT, which has terrible mileage, but absolutely love the NA V8 rumble. I drove an Ecoboost Mustang at an autocross event - and their twinscroll setup (single turbo, like the N55) had terrible throttle response, and very noticeable turbo lag. You'd be approaching the end of the corner with your foot down, and it took a few seconds for the power to kick in. It was very frustrating to drive. I need to drive the new C63, that should be a monster!

I'll see if I can post a video sometime of cruising w/ the Mustang

Do love big v8 sounds! I think Merc get away with turboing because they still have the v8, albeit smaller displacement now but still a big German V8. Whereas BMW went backwards and put in a smaller 6 cylinder with turbos, which saps the exotic noise both the E92 and il6 E46 M3 had.

    • Sadly, that is the state of things. It's basically considered acceptable for any random app running on your computer to use 1+ GB of RAM, and install space, lol, no one even seems to consider that.
    • EU Commission explains why Siri AI isn't launching in the EU, and Apple is to blame by Hamid Ganji Image via Apple This week at Apple’s 2026 developers conference, the iPhone maker unveiled the upgraded Siri after more than a year of delays. The new Siri is now called Siri AI, and it's powered by Google Gemini models. While Siri AI is preparing to roll out to Apple users worldwide, the company’s EU customers might need to wait much longer before getting their hands on the new assistant. Shortly after announcing iOS 27, Apple said in a blog post that Siri AI is not coming to the EU anytime soon due to hurdles posed by the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and other regulatory requirements. To comply with the DMA in the EU, Apple apparently needs to open Siri AI to rival assistants on iOS 27 and iPadOS 27. Apple has refused to do so, which has resulted in Siri AI being delayed for its EU users. The company argues that such a move would put users’ privacy at risk. In a statement to Neowin, a European Commission spokesperson provided more details about why Siri AI will not be rolled out to Apple customers in the region. The statement first noted that the DMA does not prohibit Apple from launching its services in the EU and that the company is simply required to comply with the law. The European Commission spokesperson added that, since Apple is considered a gatekeeper under the DMA, it is “obliged to give third parties access to equivalent features as they give to its own products. Because the DMA is precisely about giving users the choice to use the product they find best suits their needs.” Moreover, the spokesperson said the Commission has been in contact with Apple, though the company “did not develop proposals for DMA compliant interoperability solutions.” The statement also clarified that companies designated as gatekeepers cannot leverage their status and products, such as operating systems, to favor their own AI services. The first public beta of iOS 27 will roll out next month, while the stable version is expected to launch this fall following the release of the iPhone 18 series. It remains unclear when Apple will be able to resolve its DMA-related compliance issues with the European Commission and bring Siri AI to its European customers.

    • This has been on the roadmap for years, nothing really new here. This is one of the few areas where Microsoft is making Windows better. Universal print is a very good things and so far works as expected. The last step is ending the option for 3rd parties to add traditional custom drivers. It is somewhat of a hurdle, but it is for a long-term good. The downside is that printer manufactures are likely going to use this as an excuse to force users onto new printers. Considering this roadmap has been public for years, then printers sold during that time should be covered...but I'm sure they will have a different opinion.
