mmh you dont have any local professional leage??

here in quebec there is the Ligue Nord Americaine de Hockey.

now there is many NHL players with the lockout so it is very very interesting..

and a average 3.1 fight per game yeah :)

EDIT: typing errors

forgot about hockey [in dusgust] for the time being

i cant believe how greedy those mother****ing players are

nhl will never be the same...

they are just playing a game. sure they are entertaining but its not worth no 5-10 mill a season, when there are plenty of people actually contributing to society and would have no possible way of making that much in 30 years.

money is :x .

i am just trying to get by... its very hard.... i watch so much NHL Hockey normally.... i can't believe i am going to have to wait at least till next season

Live in Houston, so the alternatives are pretty bleak :/

...well said Travis, I couldn't agree more. I don't think there's anyone in Edmonton that doesn't feel that way. If the owners don't get cost certainty, we can kiss the Oilers goodbye. What I can't get over is that those f***ers, errrhhh, I mean players, are so damn greedy, that they would risk some of the small market teams folding ...which means fewer jobs for them...but they would still do it just to line their own pockets!!! Where's the sense in that?

I'm a true Canadian who's grown up on the game since the late 1970's, so I totally miss it and feel that void. ...but I honestly don't want to pay top dollar to watch a team that can't afford to compete: Edmonton, Calgary, Buffalo, Pittsburgh all need this deal just to remain viable and ice a competitive team.

In the meantime, I've been watchin' Sportsnet's classic hockey matchups. Nothing beats watchin' the 1980's era of the Battle of Alberta. :p

Well I have to commend the NHL for actually taking action against the players. Any other sport would have just let it go and given in, but the NHL had the balls to suspend the season to get the players in line. Props to that. As much as I miss watching the great games, I can't help but think it's for a good reason.

yes but the nhl market is not near as large as other professional leagues..

cant wait till this is over and a salary cap is in place [ bettman recently said the NHL would not compromise on the cap ]

..and to see the oilers skate again :woot:

The NLL has started so that'll give me a near hockey fix.

I can't get into watching a AHL game on TV. Maybe it's just the camera work being so comparatively unprofessional. I feel sorry for Americans who can't watch HNIC. Some of the NHL games that I've seen on American TV (i.e. Sunshine Network in Florida) have been atrocious.

yeah but a real fan are addict to hockey you can sit on your ass and waiting. YOU MUST GET SOME HOCKEY :)

Erm, not really. I'm a "real" hockey fan (whatever that's supposed to mean) and I'm not watching any hockey right now -- just waiting for the NHL to resume. Possibly the WHA if it ever gets off the ground, too.

    • Thank god they got rid of the disgusting looking sidebars, and the corner radius looks much better, too. Two things I hated on day one, and never got used to.
    • JetBrains launches Rider 2026.2 EAP 5, bringing several AI improvements by David Uzondu JetBrains has released the fifth EAP version of Rider 2026.2, bringing a faster startup flow with the new non-modal startup screen and quality-check hooks for Claude Code and Codex. In the latest EAP release, Rider now has newly bundled "quality-check" hooks that run background tests on code edits before the external agent proceeds. For example, after Claude Code rewrites a class, Rider immediately triggers a PostToolUse hook that analyzes the code for syntax errors and formatting warnings. It then passes those findings back to the model as feedback, allowing the agent to fix its own output before finalizing the task. If Rider detects compilation errors, the IDE prevents the agent from treating the task as complete, while minor formatting warnings simply help guide the model toward better output. The "Explain with AI" feature can now tackle tricky build errors directly from the console, helping .NET developers who frequently wrestle with multi-targeting failures and MSBuild errors. JetBrains introduced Explain with AI back in the 2024.1 release cycle. With this feature, instead of forcing developers to copy long diagnostics into a separate chat window, Rider now lets you trigger these explanations directly from the error source. In similar EAP news, JetBrains recently opened the first EAP for IntelliJ IDEA 2026.2, with features that appeal to both those who are into AI-assisted coding and those who prefer "classic" manual development. For manual developers, the release adds revamped dependency completion for Maven and Gradle build scripts, which pulls data directly from the local cache to suggest relevant versions. It also brings the Spring Debugger update, displaying security indicators next to endpoints to visualize secured routes during runtime. In addition to database migration tools for Flyway and Liquibase, this build introduces a Hibernate debugger that shows the exact SQL or HQL queries that the framework plans to execute, letting developers jump directly to the Java code that triggered them.
