I... want... drop shadow....

I am now running Fedora 3, it has xorg right?  Do some video cards not support it?  How can I config it?  I need eye candy...

Yes, it probably has. You need xcompmgr, for that stuff. I don't know about the cards - I have a nVidia GeForce FX 5200, and it renders these shadows damn fast, no performance loss at all (stability loss and font problems ). My xcompmgr "config"

xcompmgr -t -6 -l -12 -nc -r 8 -F -o .60

If you have nVidia card with drivers installed, and you want to enable composite extension, then you should do the following:

In the Nvidia driver section add the line

    Option "RenderAccel" "true"

Add the following section:

    Section "Extensions"

    Option "Composite" "Enable"

    EndSection

and thats it :ninja:

You are taunting me, aren't you?  ;)

Yes  :D

xcompmgr users! please reply if you have any font problems. see my post - this is really freaking me out. btw I also can't play quake3 with composite loaded - launching quake just causes X server crash.

I don't have any problem with font at all, but I can only use the composite for about 30min, I think I've got a memory leak, everything goes so slow, scrolling, openning a windows, etc...

Doesn't anyone else use enlightenment around here? LOL

I do. Just gimme a few and I will have a shot of my laptop running it (I am just installing as I figured out a way around all the freezing at install when probing the PCMCIA ports).

Maybe it sounds funny, but my system seems to be faster with composite loaded . I mean that opening new windows etc. is faster. I guess it has something to do with render accel.

P.S. Do you use any custom fonts?

And here's Enlightenment. (It's an oldish laptop - a Satellite 320CDS with a P233MMX, 64MB RAM, 1GB HDD - so nothing whizzbang and fancy, MOTIF4LIFE)

Whow, cool!

Hey coxis, where did you get the icons, and how did you colour the entire kde taskbar? And how do you remove the partition borders, I used to know how to do it, but I forgot?

    • 26H2 absolutely will support ARM Windows just not on devices that came with 26H1. This is evident by the fact I am running 26H2, which on my MacBook Neo and Surface Pro 12 (inch), within a VM.

    • The FIFA World Cup is not US centric.
    • It’s amusing how Microsoft is pushing IT admins as if this was a major, game-changing update. In reality, it’s just an enablement package that bumps the build number, which is disappointing compared to the more substantial 22H2 and 24H2 releases. Technically, 25H2, 26H1, and the upcoming 26H2 are essentially the same, differing only in support schedules. They could have included the Windows K2 improvements here, but chose not to. The era of Windows being in the backburner continues, and this 26H2 release feels like an afterthought. Shame, Nadella, shame.
    • Microsoft, totally not confusing /s 25H2 - Current for non-Arm based Windows 26H1 - Current for Arm based Windows 26H2 - Only for non Arm Windows
