Some Exchange 5.5 SPAM Filtering advice

Can someone here give me some advice as to what Anti-spam solution I should buy for an NT.4 sp6 server running Exchange 5.5? Spam is getting out of control and its getting worse by the day. I would also like the program to also work with Server 2003 if possible because we'll be upgrading with a year or so.

I read somewhere (or misread) that IMF works with 5.5, but doesn't do the message store (ie spam is deleted not redirected). Please tell me is it is not so.

I think the best solution would be to place an anti-virus/anti-spam SMTP gateway infront of the Exchange server, for example: Symantec Mail Security for SMTP
