Is there any easy way to automatically take pictures out of quotes? I have seen it a lot when people quote someone with pics it wastes a lot of space especially in the "Post your Workstation" thread.

Also, is it possible to automatically resize pictures that are hosted off site? A lot of people have no idea what they are doing to the thread when they post a 1024 x 768 picture. I am running at a 1680 x 1050 resolution but my IE windows aren't always maximized and when they aren't I have to scroll left and right a lot to see what people have typed in the thread.

Just two observations I have made. I don't know if they are possible, but I figured I would ask.

That wouldn't help at all. What the suggestion was is to not have images be quoted.

I've seen in a few cases where when quoted and pics are within the quotes, the images turn into links. Not sure why this doesn't happen all the time.

I like the resizing idea, mainly because i'm using a 15" screen and it sucks having to scroll. Also there should be a guide to compression. People need to learn which type to use e.g. gif, jpg etc. This could save say a 250kb jpg to a 100kb gif.

I'm still on 56k. I can't get BB. Yes I know. Its sucks to be me.

The images people host on neowin will turn into a link when quotes but not the images hosted on a outside source like imageshack. I don't know if it is able to turn them to links when you quote because of the IPB code.

How to resize foreign hosted images:  Post.

A lot of people on the boards don't think about this, or don't know how to do this. I have never done this myself, but normally I just put a link to where my pictures are located so they can click on the link and it doesn't break the tables.

Look at that BS. He quoted all that to say one thing. Some ass did the same thing on the prvious page.

Whenever I read that thread, some absolute noob will quote some guy's post. Make them urls or something. I can't stand seeing the same post 30 times in its entirety.

How about an automatic resize irregardless of whether the pic is uploaded or stored in an external server?

I don't want to have to click on a link just to see a pic all the time. I'd prefer decently sized thumbnails to give me a rough idea of what it is and helping me decide if clicking on the link is worth it.

    • My comment was intended to be humorous. I believe scientists already knew it since they comprehend relatively. Maybe I'm assuming that.
    • Surprise Execs are dumb. I hope the rehired engineers said were not coming back until we get 2x our salary.
