xXTOKERXx
Right, in the simplest form; Computer A connected via ethernet to router Computer B connected via wireless. both have internet access 99% of the time both connect to same work group both have been able to drag and drop files with ease. both suddenly wont allow transfers of files, but both be connected to the internet. all the settings are the same, the same key as the router, etc. etc. but now i goto workgroup computers and nothing connection signal excellent. firmware updated. I JUST DO NOT understand it, i feel like i have done something wrong, but i rarely ever transferred files before, and now im re-doing the home computers i need it desperately, and it keeps loosing the workgroup computers?? Argh, im going mad over this, surely its the router?

Porsche Design
i have that too the transfering of files between computers viz networks in xp is terrible the signal is "excellent" there's a problem in the network group name i think, you'll have to mess around with it, sometimes mine says i don't have permission to access the files. Caledai
For transfer of large files, Always use a cable. I work in several schools, and have found the wireless infrastructure there is perfect for email, internet and working on documents. But as soon as you transfer large files the system falls down. summers
I get that often. One day it works, the next, it says I don't have permissions. Anyway, I gave up trying and decided to set up an internal FTP Server. Its more reliable and faster than file transfers via Explorer.
xXTOKERXx
So no one knows how to rectify this problem? I dont understand, if people are having this problem, how comes there isnt a fix available? i contacted D-link and they confirmed that it most definately a windows problem. Argh. digipoi
Try going to your folder options in your control panel. Under the view tab, scroll to the bottom and remove the check box for simple file sharing. Remove and reset your shared folders how you want them and see if that works. edit: Why dont you just map the drives you are sharing?
