Green Day have been around years longer & started out as a live band only,

I've been to see many bands live festivals gig stadiums rock pop rave punk rap reggee ect & Green Day are the best live band I have ever seen.

Green day, they are heads above Good Charlotte.... Some of their albums before American Idiot were not as good, but I don't know maybe it is because the first time I listened to the album straight through it reminded me of Tommy by the Who, but IMO American Idiot is one of their best Albums....Ah yes people they are punk-rock, they are not pop, it is mainstream punk-rock thats how they are characterized

Please don't use "punk music" in the same sentence as either of those two bands. Anyone who listens to the lyrics of their songs, will easily see a large pop influence. Give me The Clash or The Sex Pistols any day.

Green Day hands down. They aren't sell outs to the teeny bopper masses. They are tried true that they consistantly pump out music that people will like for more than the attention span of a goldfish.
