Sony = $60+ Billion in Debt

Successful, since when?

since the walkman.

i think it would have been better for both companies if apple never released the ipod and sony just gave them 60 billion dollars

anyway, sony makes cool lcd's. they are glossy, probably not nice to own, but they look really good in the stores. they also make some of hte best mp3 players, but the ATRAC crap just killed the entire line.

like it or not,

Sony = 1st CRT tv/display to be flatscreen

Sony = 1st set of decent portable audio systems

Sony = high quality pc's which rivals the apple brand in terms of cosmetics.

Sony have generally done very well. if you're paying a premium for their kit it's because you want to own it when it's 1st released at which point it's new techology.

sony have changed the gaming market for good with their marketing. 5.1 systems probably wouldn't be so popular if sony hadn't mae the DAV systems and also bear in mind...

Sony make the best remotes for the kit they sell. sure seems like a small point, but how many times havbve you lot bought panasonic, hitachi phillips etc to find the buttons are crappy and tiny and impossible to find for the common features?

think about it.

Sony make the best remotes for the kit they sell.

I would have to say second best. I find it a little difficult to navigate with my Sony DVD player, much easier with my Toshiba. But they are deffinitely better than Panasonic. My father owns a panasonic DVD + VCR combo, it took me 15 minutes to figure out how much time was left until the movie was over. They have the pause button grouped with the uncommon features (slow mo, display) and the smallest button on the remote is the rewind and fast forward buttons. They are deffinitely some of the worst remote designers ever.

Mybe if they stopped making crappy, over-priced products that break after a year or so, they wouldn't be in this situation.

Agreed

There are always Panasonic and Toshiba alternatives that aren't as over-priced.

+ Sony never shares their technology with anyone.

MD

Some Tape or Record Disc people don't use anymore (forced other companies to make video tapes)

etc...

And now MD's aren't as popular, they try to come out with crappy mp3 players that can only play an exclusive format encoded by some Sony software.

They sort of deserve it having everything wayy over-priced.

These technology stuff are already over-priced, they make it even more expensive.

    • What they really need to do is automatically spell "loses" and "lose" correctly since nobody seems to know how to anymore. Then they blame spellcheck/autocomplete and don't realize autocomplete is just filling in the word for them automatically so it was misspelled in the first place.
    • If someone chooses to continue using SB and therefore goes through the manual intervention in the thread, afterwards the BSOD problem is gone. Whether they then re-enable the task doesn't matter, they're done, though on such machines it might pay to keep it disabled in case the next update (if there is a next) causes the same problem. OTOH, if someone disables SB in the BIOS, the problem is also gone. Incidentally, I noticed that this task exists even on machines that don't support SB. It's just installed across the board...and runs. Doing what on such machines is a little hazy.
