It's been O&O for me for a while. The job scheduling and reports ensure that the defrag is run and even lets me see the stats without having to run any sort of checks. Allow me to illustrate...

Is that the new 6.5? I really like O&O but today I am a proud owner of PerfectDisk 6.0 after much research and experimenting with demos.

D00ds, defrag proggies all do the same thing! The speed is due to the size of your hardrive, used space, remaining space, system files and various other stuff. The configuration of your comp is also quite important. Anyways just to be on the safe side u should use the default windows defrag program or if u don't trust microsoft i suggest norton speed disk as it is simple and secure :D

Isn't Diskeeper just a complete ripoff?

The last time i checked, all it does is use Windows's's's built in defragger and schedules it.

absolutely not. you will find that diskeeper is MUCH MUCH faster than the built-in one, and it is much more effective as well. do a system defrag, and do a diskeeper analysis and you will see a lot of fragmented files remaining.

Oh well, It was when I first heard about it. Anywho, I use Norton's system defragger, as it actually organizes the files based on use (page file, system files, common files) and considers things like slack space and empty space.

Sure, it may take 1-2 hours, but I don't intend to defrag while I'm playing Solitaire and watching porn either.

Gotta agree with you chacho. Diskeeper is one of the fastest and most efficent disk defragmenter out there. Subsequent defrags on a regular basis takes only a couple of minutes for me depending on the number of fragmented files.

Diskeeper is much better than Windows built in version but it still defrags the same way. Meaning, you need to run it multiple times to effectively compact the harddrive. The interesting thing is most defraggers work that way. They really don't compact the hard drive as well as it could be compacted (none of them do partial file compaction).

    • The FIFA World Cup is not US centric.
    • It’s amusing how Microsoft is pushing IT admins as if this was a major, game-changing update. In reality, it’s just an enablement package that bumps the build number, which is disappointing compared to the more substantial 22H2 and 24H2 releases. Technically, 25H2, 26H1, and the upcoming 26H2 are essentially the same, differing only in support schedules. They could have included the Windows K2 improvements here, but chose not to. The era of Windows being in the backburner continues, and this 26H2 release feels like an afterthought. Shame, Nadella, shame.
    • Microsoft, totally not confusing /s 25H2 - Current for non-Arm based Windows 26H1 - Current for Arm based Windows 26H2 - Only for non Arm Windows
    • After I installed those, my older but capable Win 11 laptop (16GB RAM) reported it as 26H2 26300.8697. Then I installed it on my big laptop (128GB RAM! Hehe sorry), it reported it as 25H2 26220.8690. Ugh. Do I have to switch Insiders channels from Release to Beta?
