i have a yellow one to support cancer awareness, as one of my friends had testicular cancer and two of my relatives got cancer; all pulled through it.

i have a red one as i like red

i have a make-poverty-history as i'm a member of the G5 summit ( )

all sourced from their respective charities.

yeah, hard man talkin' :pinch:

Fact: These bracelets don't look 'good', no matter what outfit you wear or complexion you have. However, many people did buy them as a simple way to get money out to a cause.

Opinion: Charity is charity. You bought it, they got their money. That doesn't mean you have to wear it. Some people wear it to show off their charity, which is selfish, and reminds me of one point of Christianity I strongly agree with; acts of charity should be done quietly and with respect for the recipients.

The companies that manufacture these bracelets get on my nerves the most, though. They're taking advantage of trend-setting in teenagers. By making a charity out of an accessory, they know a few people will buy at first, then a bunch of other kids will buy to feel 'included' or because a perception forms that it's stylish. Young people are drawn into fads and trends no matter what anyone thinks, and the bitter anti-trend angsters (the ones who go off and create their own trends anyway--because that's some sort of statement or something) gripe about it mostly just so they can find other people who agree with them and ultimately feel 'included' themselves. It can't be helped how kids are, and these companies are taking advantage of it.

They're making a marketing scheme out of charity. That's disgusting.

i'd agree with you joshie, but...thats life...

as for myself, i really do support anti-racism alot. there are reasons behind it though.

in my country they don't sell those anti-racist armbands by nike, i guess cuz they dont ship them to asia...but lucky for me! i just bought them from and auction dealer and its gonna arrive tomorrow! whoopee!

I support the Livestrong cause and all, but most of the people i work with don't even know what they're for. And, they're trendy.

Although in my town, there is a firefighter who needs a extensive operation, a lung transplant, specifficaly. He needs $500,000 to do this, and him and his buddies at the department setup a charity called "Lungs for George" You pay $1, it goes to his surgery fund, and you get the famillar braclet like Livestrong's. Except it's green.

I just Getting the Anti Chav Wristband (not a Offical Band lol) cos i hate the Chavs and the Other i have ordered is Support the Troops which is a offical one and i do support the troops

"oh guyz i hate these i'll post a thread about it"

If you hate them, just ignore them. I have nothing against them. A "UNC National Champs 2005" one is in the mail now

(Minus the bigger TAR HEELS one)

Does anyone know if there is an anti-wristband wristband? Or a place where I could make my own custom wristband? I'm referring to the oh-so-trendy "charity" wristbands. No flaming please. I'm all for charity, but kids at school buy them in large quanities and resell them for profit !

Can we stick to the topic? I really don't want your opinions or all about your new "the bible engraved on a wristband."

Like i said a couple of days ago, You can get a Anti Wristband from

http://wyvernfm.musicradio.com/breakfast_a...ff-eb667a5825ea

Its Free and All, but after 8 days of Ordering It hasnt came yet! :s

I can't believe all those who are angry against the wristbands  You purchasing something that supports a charity, which 99 of 100 times you wouldn't of donated to them anyway. They are getting financial support for their cause and your receiving a wristband that has become a trend. Big Deal ! If you don't want to wear the damn wristband, don't wear it. If you don't mind the idea of supporting the charity, buy a damn wristband and give it to someone. Who cares if people in school buy them in bulk and make a profit on them. They had to buy them in the first place, so the charity got their donation, right.. Plus kids buy **** in bulk and sell to make a profit all the time. How about those pot dealers, huh.. How about when the school sends you out to sell chocolate bars that cost no where close to what they sell them for, huh...

Trends are just trends, learn to live with them. At least this trend actually is a nice trend that helps those in need and those who would of never had as much help in their cause. Just imagine how much $ the charity received, that they would of never got, for each wristband they sold for $2. Most of you don't really care but imagine yourself being one of those affected with the illness :(

I love how people who consider themselves reasonable can get so angry and frustrated.

    • Anthropic pulls Fable 5 and Mythos 5 after US export control order by Pradeep Viswanathan In April this year, Anthropic launched the Claude Mythos Preview frontier model with state-of-the-art cyber and coding capabilities for a select set of companies around the world. After preparing appropriate guardrails, early this week, Anthropic launched Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5, its most capable AI models. Claude Fable 5 is for general users and comes with strict safeguards, while Mythos 5 is designed with fewer safeguards for cybersecurity and biology use cases. Today, Anthropic abruptly suspended access to its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 AI models for all customers after receiving an export control directive from the US government. The company received the directive from the government today at 5:21 p.m. ET, and the received letter did not provide any details regarding the national security concern. Anthropic understands that the government became aware of a method to bypass, or “jailbreak,” Fable 5, which might be the reason behind the directive. The order was issued under national security authorities and requires the company to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether they are inside or outside the United States. The restriction also applies to foreign national employees working at Anthropic. As a result, the company has disabled both models for all customers to ensure compliance. Access to previous Anthropic models like Opus and Sonnet is not affected by this government order. The company highlighted that it had developed strong safeguards to reduce the possibility that Fable is misused for tasks related to cybersecurity. In fact, many developers are complaining that the safeguards are going overboard. Additionally, the company worked with the US government, the UK AISI, multiple private third-party organizations, and internal teams to red-team Fable’s safeguards for thousands of hours. Finally, Anthropic noted that no testers have yet been able to find a universal jailbreak on Fable 5. As expected, Anthropic disagrees that a narrow potential jailbreak should lead to the recall of a commercial model used by hundreds of millions of people. It warned that applying this standard across the AI industry could effectively halt new frontier model deployments. Anthropic concluded by mentioning that it is working to restore access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 as soon as possible and plans to share more details within the next 24 hours.

    • Not sure what country you’re in but in many countries you can absolutely jail the sellers behind businesses… in fact I’d say in most countries you can do that
    • I guess we are done since you refuse to read my comment you replied to or my other comment in another thread you were also a part of here.
