I didn't get to read it all but I think I have you all beat.

I was at a bar last night and a Miller Lite representative gave me and my friend black ones that say Miller. Yes, a beer company is now using them. We went from cancer research to beer. Admittedly both worthy causes, but they should not be compared to each other.

I was recently sickened to see WalGreen's selling wristbands like the real ones that say stuff like Love. I own 4 wristbands and will only purchase a wristband if I believe in the cause. People who buy large quantities of the LiveStrong ones then resell them some of the lowest people on earth. I am proud of the 4 that I have because they pay for somethign USEFUL, like Tsunami benefit, books in third world countries, pet adoption, and money for a anti-war movie to be shown across the US.

Sickened? Its a fashion accessory. I can't believe people think most of these wristbands exist for anything more than to look good. Yes, Armstrong had done some good to raise money and awareness for cancer, but there have been far better and more successful ways to donate to a cause. I've donated a large portion of my money every year to different causes, and I don't need to show it through some bracelet, a building named after me, or whatever new trend comes down the line. People are wearing them to draw attention to themselves, not the causes they support.

I love how people who consider themselves reasonable can get so angry and frustrated.?:

One can be reasonable and angry at the same time. They can tie together. For example, I can be reasonable when making a decision and still be mad that I have to make it.

Reasonable:> Capable of reasoning; rational.Angry:> Feeling or showing marked displeasure.

See? They don't contradict eachother. They aren't antonyms. They just don't normally get associated with eachother.

Anyway... get back on topic... :pp :pinch::

Well said, i have a Livestrong, Beat Bullying + Anti racism all on one wrist :)

Livestrong: theres so much money going toward cancer research and theres so little being done

Beat bullying: Where the **** does that money go? Compensate the bullys who would be getting kids' lunch money?

Beat racism: Wheres that money going?

I bought off BritishWristbands...came in 3 days or so...no scam though :)

first off.. all you people who hate the bracelets.. what do you think of people geting ribons? buying poppies? (sorry for spelling) or anything of that nature? its a form of fundraising for a good cause

i think its AWESOME that this has become as popular as it has in some ways. like for the fact people ask about them, and i dont think too many people who answer say "it looks good" they all say what it means to them. how it effects there life.

i think its completly irrational to hate this anymore then hating a poppie you buy for rememberance day, or anything of the sort

...i dont think too many people who answer say "it looks good" they all say what it means to them. how it effects there life.

Really? I asked my Son why he wants one. His exact words, "it looks good, and my mates have one"!

My Son is 13, he wants one cus his mates have one. His mates want one, cus thier mates have one. Thier mates want one, cus thier mates have one!

Nothing to do with char-i-dee. Pure fashion statement. They don't care where they get one from, or how the money gets divided between charities or wether it even goes to a charity!!!

It's mainly a fashion statement, and that is the sad thing about it. It's now lost it's point!

mainly? i really dont think its mainly 13 year olds buying all these bracelets

You mean wristbands? You wanna see the kids at schools over here. Fecking everyone wants one

If ya aint got one, ya aint with the in crowd

I second this. DeadAIM+5.2 is what I have, and it is currently the bomb.

My point exactly.

Does anyone else see the irony in getting/wanting an anti-wristband band? :p That?s a little nuts??:laugh:ugh: I have a LiveStrong one I have had for sometime, I actually have never taken it off since I got it, but this trend has been around for a long time probably 2-3 years before the Livestrong bands even came out..... I think it was Nike who first started it, I remember back when I was playing basketball in high school it was becoming a trend people wearing different NIKE ones, I actually had this guy on my team who had like 10 different col:ps :p The referees would not let you play with them on thou:laugh:ugh: if they saw you with one they would make you take it off........

I found a Very Interesting Report about Wristbands Spams and one website is:

    • Anthropic pulls Fable 5 and Mythos 5 after US export control order by Pradeep Viswanathan In April this year, Anthropic launched the Claude Mythos Preview frontier model with state-of-the-art cyber and coding capabilities for a select set of companies around the world. After preparing appropriate guardrails, early this week, Anthropic launched Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5, its most capable AI models. Claude Fable 5 is for general users and comes with strict safeguards, while Mythos 5 is designed with fewer safeguards for cybersecurity and biology use cases. Today, Anthropic abruptly suspended access to its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 AI models for all customers after receiving an export control directive from the US government. The company received the directive from the government today at 5:21 p.m. ET, and the received letter did not provide any details regarding the national security concern. Anthropic understands that the government became aware of a method to bypass, or “jailbreak,” Fable 5, which might be the reason behind the directive. The order was issued under national security authorities and requires the company to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether they are inside or outside the United States. The restriction also applies to foreign national employees working at Anthropic. As a result, the company has disabled both models for all customers to ensure compliance. Access to previous Anthropic models like Opus and Sonnet is not affected by this government order. The company highlighted that it had developed strong safeguards to reduce the possibility that Fable is misused for tasks related to cybersecurity. In fact, many developers are complaining that the safeguards are going overboard. Additionally, the company worked with the US government, the UK AISI, multiple private third-party organizations, and internal teams to red-team Fable’s safeguards for thousands of hours. Finally, Anthropic noted that no testers have yet been able to find a universal jailbreak on Fable 5. As expected, Anthropic disagrees that a narrow potential jailbreak should lead to the recall of a commercial model used by hundreds of millions of people. It warned that applying this standard across the AI industry could effectively halt new frontier model deployments. Anthropic concluded by mentioning that it is working to restore access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 as soon as possible and plans to share more details within the next 24 hours.

    • Not sure what country you’re in but in many countries you can absolutely jail the sellers behind businesses… in fact I’d say in most countries you can do that
    • I guess we are done since you refuse to read my comment you replied to or my other comment in another thread you were also a part of here.
