Am I the only one with this connection?

I max out at about 231kbps Down and 30kpbs Up. WOW!!

Nope I have

--> adsl show rate
Data Path : Fast
  Downstream Bit Rate : 2272 Kbps
  Upstream   Bit Rate : 288 Kbps
-->

:cool:

Maxed out at 340kbs Down and around 38kbps UP.

No Caps either.

I kindof skipped the 1MB and went straight to 2mb. Will be moving to 8MB this summer.

What's the use for a 10Gbit connection when you can't even write data that fast.

10Gbits is about 1Gbyte a second, don't know any disks which write that fast, maybe UCL uses SCSI hard disks.

The best connection which is worth getting is a 1.5Gbit, this speed will allow the data to be written as it is downloaded per second.

4meg/256kbit here, good ole Telewest :)

UCL's internet connection (University College of London) is 10Gbits/sec  :woot:  :woot:

yup telewest if by far the best ISP here in uk, well i know defo for midlands lol, i have got 1mb, topped it out at 131k/s, soon to get 2mb in summer hopefully though. :D

4000/384 through comcast high speed (yea, thats a joke) internet. Thats only if my modem works.

I love comcast. Been with them since 1996 (when they were @home) and they still refuse to replace my dying 5 year old modem.

When i move up to william paterson university they have a 4000/1000 connection when it feels like its 100/100. Damn college networks.

I'm on 10mbit university network atm...so in theory I can get up to 1.25MB/s download, but it rarely goes over 1MB/s when downloading large files on fast servers (legally :p )

edit: With a 500MB limit on traffic per day (upload + download)...between the hours of 8am to 8am. Weird times really.

    • I only had time to watch a few minutes of the keynote, but I get the impression that there isn't going to be that much to excite me with iOS/iPadOS/watchOS 26. Unifying aspects of all of the OSes I think in general has merit, but I do think Liquid Glass is largely nonsense and just fluff. I hope sheeple people don't drool over something as Liquid Glass. Some of this just seems to be shuffling the deck chairs of the Titanic botch job of Apple Intelligence and how largely useless Siri has been for 10 years. It ticks me off more than anything. Liquid Glass is just a retread from previous macOS and Windows releases (as everyone has stated). Improve things you already released (including Shortcuts and Automations) instead of giving me fluff.
    • I’m kind of wonder about said crowed as well…
    • Oh I didn't forget. This just show all around they are out of ideas now. Old UI is old UI. Having said that, I want the classic Windows theme back as an option in Win11. And I still say they copied Vista here. That doesn't look as much like Aqua to me.
    • Windows XP had a fantastic start menu, that for someone like me who doesn't like to spend a lot of times customizing things, worked fantastically!! I actually liked the Windows 7 menu a little better, the right-column of options was a little more useful, and it has a more appropriate number of frequently used apps (on XP you could increase this, which I always did). I never liked the 8/8.1 start screen at all, although I did like the concept of widgets. Windows 10's start menu seems like a great way to blend the good things about the Windows 7 menu with widgets, which I thought seemed promising. However, with widgets never becoming popular, it left the Windows 10 start menu looking like an ugly mess. I am not a huge fan of the Windows 11 start menu, but it looks clean and doesn't get in my way.
    • I think a lot of this is preemptive on the potential losing Google default search money which can hurt them.
