Hi old chaps!

I've just started using Miranda, after being inspired by this thread, however, I have a couple of questions...

Firstly, everyone seems to see my text as the default black-arial, is there any way to change this to how I want it to look?

Secondly, using clist_modern, how do I go about hiding the title bar (just as in clist_classic)?

Thanks :D

Hey everyone! I am sure this has been asked a million times, but I cannot find a clear cut answer.

How can I make my Miranda status icons/contacts look like this?

mirandacontactsdo0.jpg

I have the following Miranda version and plug-ins that might be of interest, if it helps:

Miranda 0.6.8

clist_modern 0.4.2.36

tweakui 0.0.0.4

I've heard you can do it with TweakUI, by selecting Translucency and leave contacts opiate at 30% or with clist_nicer+ (I cannot find nicer+). But, when I select those options with TweakUI, it doesn't work.

Thanks for the help! :D

What theme and icons are those?

I think that on the second screenshot, the clist_nicer skin is "modernclear", the dark substyle, and the status icons are by a0x. not sure what the ieview theme is, but I wouldn't mind getting my hands on it either.

Can't help you much with the first screenshot, but again it's something I want :D

Not sure about the first screenshot of the vista looking contact list skin but there are heaps of variations. One is My Vista by russellc

The second screenshot is Modernclear also by russellc with Proxal icons by Angeli-ka/valkyrie.

The ieview theme is GoneDark by russellc. I'm not sure which variation is used in the screenshot but it's been slightly modded there anyway. Should be easy enough for you to replicate.

Btw, they are all clist_modern skins

With the recent "push" from Microsoft, I finally started really using Miranda.

Usually starting grom scratch and making it work like you want it to is very difficult.

I tried doing that many times, spent a whole day messing with it, asked around but later gave up.

It is the Mir4nda Pack that really got me started.

Went with one of the skins that came with the pack and themed the Tabsrmm to match it:

All the plugins are ther but customizing is still difficult as many of the plugins seem to operate together and finding the right place in the options is pretty hard. The options is intimidating. Now trying find how to change what the popup displays when a user comes online.

Humph.

Using Miranda 7 and Tabsrmm 2, does anyone know why the message input area doesn't stay resized? I'll resposition the input area, 'save for all sessions' and it just goes back to a stupid huge size when i close that container.

Edit: Ah - Nevermind. Apparently if it i make the message input as small as possible, it auto expands when the container is closed. I just had to make it slighty above the minimal limit ~

    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
