so i have to remove the old version of autpatcher and then install the april full patch? how do i uninstall the autopatcher app and all the items it updated??

yes, to remove, just delete the c:\program files\autopatcher folder.

remember:

- if a new release has "update" in the title, apply it on top of the previous release.

eg the feb release was an update to the jan release.

- if it doesnt have "update" in the title, remove the old copy before installing the new release.

Maybe i am an idiot but why does this not install everything i choose ?? even when i run it with a command prompt(no option to choose what to install) there are many things not installed. Why is this?? or is it just me?

Can you give an example about the module you selected and wanted to install?

In the latest version of Autopatcher (April) I missed the Dutch license agreement, why?????????

Was it waisting time doing the Dutch translation, Raptor?

Sorry, the April releases weren't prepared by me. Your translation (along with your name in the About screen) will be added ASAP.

I saw a few messages about the install problems with The Microsoft Framework "Modules". This depens on the order that Autopatcher will load them. Depending on name (display order) and the Priority value in the Module.......

I'm still focused on that one....

Besides that, Autopatcher doesn't scan for a valua in the registry, if the modules couldn't be installed......the valua that Autopatcher uses to scan is created. Sop, autopatcher would say that's installed.

Using SUS or WUS, it isn't installed.

Possible to make a scan-engine only in autopatcher??????? No adds to the registry?? For all KB based and MS related software updates or patches. Could be helpfull :D

1) (first post)

a lot of modules require AP to add the registry entry so they can be detected.

it may be possible to have a switch that could be used with MS update modules that would prevent it being added, thats one solution.

However you would have to keep loading AP until all updates have been applied.

My solution, which ive sent to raptor, requires you use the reboot="true" flag in the upcomming prerequisit field.

If any modules with the flag are selected for install, AP will calculate when to install them from relation to parent modules - whether any of them also have the flag, and whether any are installed already.

If from the calculations any need installing post-reboot, after a reboot a window will popup showing progress of the installation, and once all is done it will display the completion.

That way you never have to go back and check anything, your initial selection is all you have to do.

2) (second post)

there is only one copy of AP now, there is no version for XP, just releases for XP that contain modules for XP.

The \win9xnt directory is for people running AP on a Windows 9x or NT machine who need to install a couple of components in order for AP to work.

Well what more can I say? Hmm...let me see.....Thanks for the explenation!

I'm working on the Dutch version of autopatcher. This one will not work on any other system unless Windows XP Professional is installed with SP2 (DUTCH).

I've found a way to install the Modules for Framework at once. Infact it's very simple. Just a batchfile. Don't know why Autopatcher can't handle a batch file or Windows NT script-file. Just like the old "piping" command isn't working within Autopatcher. It this could be done, it all will be easy to fix all in no time!

I recently downloaded autopatcher Jan or Feb or march edition not the most recent one and enabled all the registry tweaks then realised the registry undo were not available is there some way i can get all the registry tweaks reversed or does someone have the files I need

Any help would be appreciated

Better download the latest full version! The april release........

Then you are sure you got all and are op-to-date  running a fresh installation.

Tanx a lot man :woot: , U saved me a lot of head cracking... allready downloaded and using full april release. runes as smotely as a baby's ass

Will XP tweaks be included in the MAY release  ...,

and why aren't you putting Mozilla Firefox browser in a full package  (as default install, and system default ;) )?

585895600[/snapback]

yes the latest set of tweaks will be included in the may release.

the reason firefox isnt included is because its like a 20MB file!

it seriously reduces the amount of space on a cd for all the updates.

Small programs like msn messenger are useful to a lot of people and so are slipped in, however large things like firefox will probably never be included.

You can always make your own modules if you really wanted, we can encrypt them for you and you can then post them on the 'individual modules' thread.

(i believe rtk has already done one for ff though).

    • Chrome has history of being the browser everyone uses because Internet Explorer sucks, not realizing that Edge changed that, but people got into the habit of using Chrome. I use Brave and I've never been happier with a browser. It does what it is meant to do and gets out of the way.

    • Microsoft launches Godot Sample to streamline Xbox PC game development on the engine by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Microsoft today announced a new endeavor that aims to make it simpler for Godot developers to get their products into the Xbox PC ecosystem. Dubbed the "XBOX Godot Sample," this is a new public reference for developers using the open-source engine. This is set to serve as an example of how Microsoft GDK, Xbox Services, and PlayFab can be integrated into their projects. The sample is available now on GitHub as a working example. This covers key features in gaming projects that developers may need to release their projects on Xbox PC, with everything from matchmaking and game sign-in to gamepad compatibility with Godot being covered. This release is being called the first step in giving Godot developers the tools to bring their games over to Xbox PC, with more changes to come based on feedback and issue reports. However, the company was clear that this is not related to bringing Godot projects to Xbox consoles. The engine's open development model stops it from accessing console SDKs due to the requirement of NDAs and legal contracts. Here's how it explained this Godot sample project's focus: This is a source-only sample, not a product. It's MIT-licensed at the wrapper layer; the GDK and PlayFab dependencies still require their own installs and license acceptance, consistent with our other XBOX samples. There is no set update cadence for support or maintenance. We’ll watch the repo, monitor issues, and iterate where it makes sense, but this isn't a commercial release. That said, we’re excited to hear your feedback and see any community PRs, as we evolve this together. This is the first step in bringing Godot for XBOX on PC. We plan to evolve it over time based on what the community tells us is most valuable. This sample is built specifically for XBOX on PC. It doesn’t include support for XBOX Series X|S or XBOX One. If you’re already building for XBOX Series X|S or XBOX One, please talk with your XBOX representative. If not, you can get started by signing up here. Game developers can find the XBOX Godot Sample by heading to GitHub over here. Documentation on how to get started with Godot for building an Xbox PC project can be seen here.
    • I don't understand the vision. Do people really want to buy a new computer from Dell with 6 browsers installed? We all keep asking for Microsoft to stop having so much junk on their OS, and adding a bunch of browsers seems to go against that. Ideally, we would just be asked what browser we want during OOBE but Google is just going to pay Dell a bunch of money to include Chrome. Additionally, would you want your phones to start including all the browsers too when you get them? The only thing I ever wanted was to be able to uninstall IE or edge and I believe you are now able to. I do agree that microsoft needs to chill with their "are you sure you don't want to try edge before you install chrome" ads when going to download chrome.
