iPAQ h2210 - just get a GPS addon for it :)

As an owner of a 2210 I would recommend it as a bottom line in PDA's. IE, don't get any worse or you might be disappointed. It has Bluetooth built in so you can share the internet if you have a dongle for your PC. It has Infrared also, and you can use the Nevo software as a remote control for your TV. (I don't)

It's okay for movies, and videos. I have some Simpsons episodes encoded down to about 35mb a file, and they play fine with no lag. Use windows Media encoder to do this. Very simple, only a few clicks (and wait) per file.

As for games, it's not bad, but some can be a bit laggy. I used to run some emulators on there also, but the MasterSystem one wasn't the best sound, and there was some lag.

Maybe the sound chip on board isn't the best, or maybe the emulator was pants. Who knows eh?

It's a nice size, and is nice and sturdy. The only problem is apparently it's only version 2003, and there's a later OS for the newer PDA's. I think that the new version has taskbar software. On mine you have to end tasks manually as they don't close when you press the [x], they stay in memory. (but it's no big deal)

The side grips can sometimes wiggle loose, so be careful about them. I have an aluminium case, so they are nice and safe on mine. Get yourself a screen protector also.

Get yours self a gig card and you're sorted. It has both SD and CF memory slots, so you could get a SD memory and a CF wifi card, or GPS unit if they sell them.

As for GPS unit, I think there's a "brick" style tomtom unit in a wireless bluetooth or wired version. I will be getting it soon, unless I buy a PDA with it built in or included.

I lost my H2210 few weeks ago, but it was an excellent pocket pc.

The amount of memory is just okay, but it can be overcome with additional memory card, and CPU is good enough for most of the tasks, such as watching movies and playing game.

I think H2210 one of few selected pocket pc that has Nevo bundled, and belive me, it's the best universal remote control application for pocket pc.

The bad thing about it is that it doesn't have Wi-Fi capabilities, but if you have a phone with bluetooth connection, you will be able to use that.

Also, since HP canceled the plan for OS upgrade, you're stuck with not-the-lastest OS, Windows Mobile 2003. (The latest one is WM2003 SE)

As lunamonkey said, side grips can easily come out, so you might want to use extra protections for it. (There are 3rd party side grips that look and work better than the default one.)

It doesn't have GPS capability, but you can add it on the SD/CF card slot, and it will work with office applications just fine.

edit/ sorry, I missed your last comment. I guess H2210 is not what you're looking for, if you need GPS receiver built-in.

The GPS receivers are mainly car units. They mount on the dashboard.

Here's one I'm interested in.....

If you want one built in, expect to pay an extra ?150 for it. Wifi / bluetooth and GPS all add up to a nice sum. And the PDA itself, may not even be more powerful.

Here's a PDA with it all built in....but it's not a high spec model. So it might be crap for movies.

If you're looking for a GPS pda and not too worried about other features, it looks quite a nice one.

I recently got a Ipaq RX3115 last friday and i'm loving it. I got it do invoices on the spot when i'm doing computer repairs at peoples houses. it is the best. Also plays video pretty good and can hold a 1 gig sd card. Got it for around $260

    • low latency mode is still bugged and causing bootup times slow to a crawl. To fix, you have to disable the feature with vivetool. Seems as though it's not rolled out to a lot of people yet since I've only been able to find only a handful of people that are having issues.
    • I would recommend the Nothing 2a. The battery life is awesome, 2 or 3 days without going into battery power mode. The only thing that I've been looking into recently is that it doesn't "support" Graphene OS. I'm pretty sure there is a way, I just need to do some more looking.
    • You'd have to show me an example of a listing that says Gen 1, usually i'd expect that to mean Snapdragon Gen 1 (a type of chipset, which the Pixels don't use). Pixel 7 - White - 128gb - Unlocked - 85%+ battery - Grade B+ - $159 with free delivery - https://www.ebay.com/itm/398046617206 Pixel 7 - Obsidian - 128gb - Unlocked - 80%+ battery - Very Good - $157 with free delivery - https://www.ebay.com/itm/355617734563 Both look to be sold by companies with good feedback, dealing with refurbished phones and state the phones are unlocked with a clean IMEI. Obviously I can't vouch for either company though, but the listings look good in my opinion.
    • Because Chrome is doing it. And no one said anyone had to update immediately. That's silly. They could update every day for all I care as long as it's fast, and the next time the browser restarts, you're good. And the basic point is not to tee it up for bigger updates. As it is right now, all the windows I had open reopen anyway except inprivate.
    • Why? Does anybody actually want this? The constant need to close all browser sessions and wait for a new version to install, just so that there’s a integrated coupon manager feels like a waste of everyone’s time
