I've only played a single game that scared me, and that was Barker's Undying. The sound on the game was very well done as well as the cinematics.

I was really hoping for a hit on Doom 3's release.

All the hype and buildup made it to be one of the

best titles to ever be released.

Major major flop imo. And not even scary.

The only game that has ever scared me was the first Resident Evil, since it was the only game I had ever played to have that kind of factor.

Doom wasn't that scary, but damn, it caught me off guard a few times. You'd have a few rooms of no action, walk up to a dead body, and bam! It jumped up in your face :p

Silent Hill (the whole series is just utter crap) and Fatal Frame were awful games.

They didn't catpure the environment(watch out a big polygon/triangle is going to get you!) at all needed to be "scary".

Resident evil was ok. If only for the fact that the aiming system could've used a little work.

While doom3 wasn't that scary. They captured the environment needed. That's about as scary as games are going to get without using any type of VR equipment.
