:) Because of Gentoo? It's really an awesome distro...

Anyways nice desks everyone. I really like fluxbox because it's nice and simple, minimalistic, loads quickly, you create your own menu's (so they don't get cluttered), etc.

It should work on yours, too. I googled a bit, you don't need any patches or similiar.

Do you have files inside /proc/acpi/battery ?

BTW, I have a BenQ Joybook 5000, if you want to know

Another vote for ubuntu here. Must be some kind of "one size fits all" phenomenon...

It's Gnome with the Milk 2.1g theme and the icons are Chanindjoole (Chaninja port). The launcher at the bottom is engage from e17 (soulmachine repository) and the pager in the lower right corner is called netwmpager. It supports transparency with xcompmgr, and you can set the value in the config.

I don't use engage as a dock, so I might as well use starterbar, just that I think engage generally looks better and it's just so very smooth. It's a little tricky to configure, but not that bad. That will hopefully improve, allthough the author seems to be focusing on the e17 module part, which doesn't have much to do with the standalone version unfortunately.
