hats off to unc first off..im a huge illinois fan..but...the game was a decent game...what made the game? points in the paint..sean may, although great in college ball will not be as effective in the pros..thats a big step..especially for big men...illinois had 3 attempts in the last 1:10 from 3 range wide open and missed all...if they had shot well and i think taken better shots at time...different outcome...the team the executed good won tonight..congrats to unc....ILLINOIS WILL BE BACK NEXT SEASON...THEY ONLY LOSE TWO STARTERS..HEAD AND POWELL...(giving that nobody else(williams) enters the draft

ONE

Actually, no...It's a foul that basically doesn't exist anymore unless it is blatant....very similar to the 'carry' dribble that everyone does nowadays.? It simply isn't called anymore.

Na I agree with you man...I just messing with ya a little bit (and the other Illinois fans). But it definately gives a huge advantage to the offence. It really was a great game though, and the loss can't be blamed on the refs. Illi simply didn't hit from the 3 point line like they normally do.

I agree...he's waaay to slow and isn't nearly athletic enough to be effective in the NBA.

Hehe..well, the good thing is....we didn't lose to Santa Clara School of the Blind.  :)

CHEAP shot! lol. Just wanted to add, I guess Roy can die in peace now and shut everyone up. I'm glad he finally got the monkey off his back.

Blaming the refs is useless. They let things go both ways. Illinois was simply over powered down low on defence and was kept out of the lane way too much forcing them to rely on a failing three. An uncalled foul doesn't make up for the fact that UNC simply played amazing defence and gave Illinois some really poor looks at the rim.

Tick tack fouls on augustine did play a huge role in this. Augustine did a real good job on May when he was in.

Since we're blaming refs, I guess you missed the moving screens by IlliniosE? Oh wait... they did that all season... hmmm...

Although, I will admit that last foul on Augustine was phantom, he didn't even touch him.

you can't really think that a guy Sean May's size only commits 1 or 2 fouls a game. Or Shaq for that matter, their offensive fouls just go unnoticed because the defensive player moves when they get run over, and the foul is called on them.

ps. to Rashad McCants...stop showing your jersey because DW made you an embarrassment.

While that last foul was questionable, he simply couldn't hold May. Fouling out in a little more than 9 minutes play time is not JUST because of the refs. He screwed up and hurt his team. Then again, maybe if they stopped chucking up 3's when they went cold and drove more, they could have has more fouls called against UNC.

When it comes down to it, UNC outclassed Illinois at key points in the game. The refs played no role in the loss, as they don't play a role in any win or loss. When one team plays better, they will win. That's just how it goes.

As stated in the other thread...the last moving screen was called around 10 years ago...It simply isn't called anymore.

worst officiated final i've seen in a long while. there was maybe one or two moving screens that shoulda been called, but thats about it.

the never ending nickle and dimers on illinois' end, and the constant uncalled hacking on UNCs end was just too much to overcome, although they actually came pretty damn close. with neutral refs, i'd still put money on illinois any day of the week.
