Michael Vick Hit With Sex Suit

Woman claims star NFL quarterback passed along herpes in 2003

APRIL 5--Claiming that Michael Vick gave her herpes, a Georgia woman is suing the star NFL quarterback for negligence and battery. According to the below lawsuit, Sonya Elliot, a 26-year-old health care worker, was infected with the sexually transmitted disease in April 2003 after an unprotected encounter with Vick at the athlete's Duluth, Georgia home. Elliott alleges that after testing positive for Herpes Simplex 2, she confronted the Atlanta Falcons star, 24, about her condition. "I've got something to tell you. I've got it," Vick admitted to her, according to Elliott's State Court complaint, which alleges that Vick then told her that "he had not known how to tell her about his condition, and that it was not something that he liked to talk about." Elliott's complaint also contends that Vick "apologized profusely" for not telling her he was infected with the STD. Elliot's lawsuit alleges that Vick has used the name "Ron Mexico" and, in a related court filing, her lawyers are seeking Vick's admission that he used the "Mexico" alias--and perhaps other fake names--"for the purpose of herpes testing and/or treatment." In her lawsuit, which does not specify monetary damages, Elliott states that she met Vick at a Virginia Beach nightclub in May 2001 and, shortly thereafter, began a close personal relationship with the football star (though the couple did not have sex until late-2002). Last December, Vick, the top overall pick in the 2001 National Football League draft, signed a ten-year, $130 million contract with the Falcons, the richest deal in league history. (17 pages)

For ****s sake. You are an athlete, you know your body. Why would you have unprotected sex? Do you feel like you want a kid? Do you want to pay that woman millions in child benefits if she gets pregnant?

Protection isn't 100%... he should have just kept it in his pants :pinch:

His VT attending brother has sex with 15 year girls and he gives herpes away. What a family

This is all assuming that he DOES have Herpes...She better hope he doesn't test get tested and find out that he doesn't. Could be a money hungry ex or have a vendetta or something. Hopefully this isn't true (cause I like Vick), but if it is he definately should have used protection or warned her or something. Thats messed up if he didn't.

*EDIT* haha ok i just re-read the article and saw the "Ron Mexico" part...good lord I hope that isn't true. I might have to consider changing my User Name here on Neowin to "Ron Mexico". Thats like an ultra low-budget porn name. lol

Even if Vick has Herpes, that doesn't mean he gave it to her. I mean, she could have given it to him for all we know, or she could have gotten it elsewhere.

Aren't one in 5 people in the US affected by Herpes? So, at least one of us posting so far has it :)

The Ron Mexico part is pretty damn funny though :)

i find it odd that espn hasn't said anything in regards to this and the only place u can find any info on their site about it is with their insider subscription service. looks like espn is keeping this on the hush while cnnsi and msnbc are running the story. anyway, name is pretty funny.

Not to seem like a jerk and blame the victim (because I think it's despicable that he'd be so irresponsible), but she's a health care worker and decided to not use protection? Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuumb. ESPECIALLY with a pro-athlete. Not to generalize but just listen to Wilt Chamberlain's claims of sexual verility during his playing career.

I hate ****ers who know they have a std and choose not to tell their partner, anyone infecting someone with a non-curable std should be shot!

well if you have an uncurable STD, you probably wont have very many partners...

it's common that sports teams own a house within which they spend time /w prostitutes in an attempt to prevent their wives from finding out (this is also why quite a few aren't married- they see no point in it).

a society dependant upon acts of sexual immorality we have always been, since the Romans and times before-

what, after-all, is said to be the oldest profession known to man?

it may very well be aids that wipes out the human race.

i'm sorry i'll believe it when the test results come in. it's obvious why she would have unproteced sex with him, she was probalby like OMFG it's Mike Vick and was like worst case i get pregnant and have his baby!!! unfortunately that's how the gold diggers think in this country.

as a healthcare workers, like somebody earlier said, she is pretty damn stupid to have unprotected sex and should have at least tested him first. that is assuming all this is true, i think it's all bogus myself. they just need ot test him and get it over with. if his test comes back positive for herpes then more than likely her true is 100% true..if not then she's lying piece of trash.

Um, I'm not the expert on STD tests but if he tests positive couldn't he just claim SHE gave it to him? Is there a way to know who had it first? If not, then I STILL don't think you would necessarily know the truth.

yeah it's possible that she had it previouls and knew it and gave it to him. now she could be trying for publicity. i'm just saying that if he tests positive then her story would get more credit in my eyes, doesn't necessarily mean i'd completely believe her, i should change that. but i would be more inclined to believe her.

doesn't he get tested before the season? and wouldn't she get tested for her job? if one of them does have it, it should already be on record...

Doubt it. There will always be a lot of people practicing safe sex. What would wipe out the human is likely a damaged atmosphere, nuclear wars, or several other things.

Hell no. The NFL doesn't test its players for herpes. The question is whether they have any old blood samples from before this. I'm guessing no.
