The sad thing is I doubt they ever will. Usually stories like this never get the media to finish the story. News will usually just report than the woman found the finger, then leave it at that, leaving most people in the dark and thinking poorly of the company.

Uhhhh, ur definitely not a business major nor a journalist...a company like Wendy's would never let this become a PR disaster. They already made the police announce their findings that it was indeed a hoax. Sales were affected but everybody now knows about this being a hoax and Wendys will be back in business.

Oh you have a lot to learn young grasshopper. This world does not revolve around titles and college degrees as your describing.

This already has become a PR disaster as Wendy's didn't even act surprised at the incident. You are also forgetting one other thing that a college degree can never fix and that is just the thought of something. We, humans, tend to hold very visual grudges. Hell because of the jokes and funnies on TVs I know plenty of people that just cringe at the sound of a Wendy's commercial.

Wendy's might be innocent but in the end they are the biggest losers of all. It will take people a very long time before they can consider a Wendy's chili again.

Wendy's first attempt to get customers back - free Frostys!!!

This weekend, they are giving you a very good reason to come on back and give Wendy's a try. This Saturday and Sunday, all local Wendy's will be giving away free junior size Frostys. Wendy's says the chili has been a core product for years but expects it may take some time before people start ordering it again.

Police trace source of chili finger

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — The finger that a woman said she found in a bowl of Wendy's chili came from an associate of her husband who lost the digit in an industrial accident, police said Friday.

"The jig is up. The puzzle pieces are beginning to fall into place," Police Chief Rob Davis said.

The man is from Nevada and lost a part of his finger in an accident last December, Davis said. His identity was traced through a tip made to Wendy's hot line, he said.

He said authorities "positively confirmed that this subject was in fact the source of the fingertip.''

Anna Ayala, the woman who said she found the finger, was arrested last month at her suburban Las Vegas home.

Ayala said she bit down on a 1 1/2 inch-long finger fragment while dining with her family in March at a San Jose Wendy's.

But authorities had said they believed the story was a hoax.

Wendy's had offered $100,000 for information on the origin of the finger.

 Ugly women who can't get a job or hubby to sponge off of.

SAN FRANCISCO, California (AP) -- The finger that a woman claimed she found in a bowl of Wendy's chili was severed in the tailgate of a truck during a work accident, an employee of an asphalt company said.

Pat Hogue, an estimator with a Las Vegas asphalt maintenance company, told the San Francisco Chronicle for a story in Sunday's editions that a man he was working with lost the tip of his finger on a job five months ago.

Both men were working with James Plascencia, the husband of Anna Ayala -- the Las Vegas woman who claimed she found the finger in a bowl of chili at a Wendy's restaurant in San Jose, Hogue told the paper.

Authorities believe the injured man gave the finger to Plascencia. Ayala is accused of trying to shake down the fast-food giant with a bogus tainted-food claim.
