The Official Mac OS X "Tiger" Thread

Recommended Posts

I'm really beginning to doubt the fact you don't have any problems with Tiger whatsoever, but okay. Stuffit 9 Deluxe only seems to have problems with files within separate folders.

lmao I am Happy to conform to any tests you want me to do. You tell me step by step what you did to cause the error and I will do it.

The only problem I have come across so far is that MSN Messenger will not sign in for me.

I'm suprised at the lack of built-in support for SIT files, but i can understand it to a point, what with .ZIP and .RAR being the dominant compression format these days, especially trans-platform.

Safari 2.0...hmmm from what i've read, a lot of people approve, a few dont. I guess i'll have to see for myself, the slowness and bad rendering put me off greatly. However, if its better, i could force myself  :p

I dunno about you, but I got the Stuffit expanded in my utilities folder. So as far as I am concerned, there is built in support for .SIT files. Also, Safari 2.0 is much much much faster in everything from rendering the page to how having many animated GIFs now don't put the system on its knees. I love it :)

Yeah right, as if we would have any proof that you really don't have those bugs. :p

There goes the whole 8A428 being fake thing, looks like we're really are running the final! ;)

How about because I aint?:huh::

Just because you messed up your install.?:p :p

yeah righ:p:p

Well we all know people have gotten their legal copies of Tiger, so why can't we post support threads about it? And oh yeah, the Mac Software Discussion/b> forum is still for Mac OS relathardware issues/b> according to the forum main site. Someone might want to fix that, before noobs are starting to panic;);)

I also noticed this  can I post an iPod thread here?

I thought it wasn't allowed to give Tiger support. :p

But like KeR said, it doesn't constantly slow the entire system down.

must just be mine then.

As far as the support goes, I don't really care because I certainly allowed it during Jaguar and Panther.

Kitten has taken a different stand from Chad. Battle of the Mods, ya'll! :p

Yea, my external HD wasn't slowing down Tiger either. Nice tip though. ;)

You mods might want to straighten it out with each other then, because it's a bit pointless to post questions and help people if our posts get deleted by Chad.

I've heard when people first install Tiger it goes very slow because Spotlight has to index your HDD, about how long does it take you? I know it depends on how many files you have and such but does it index quickly?

That Kitten and Radish don't seem to have a problem with this "help" we should be able to do it because its 2-1 :p

    • Absolutely NOBODY has suggested such a conclusion. I am affirming the sober reality check that AV2's overall market adoption will take longer than AV1's adoption rate -- which, by the way, is the whole point of the article! While PCI-SIG is productive (on paper), other WGs have created all sorts of confusing progress plans that consumers have tuned-out of their improvements... HTML/W3C, USB, HDMI, BT, WIFI (ieee802.11) as a few other groups where spec naming conventions, split progress paths, overlapping ambitions... I'm not critiquing the AV specs group; I'm simply affirming that adoption for AV2 faces headwinds beyond the macroeconomics of it all.
