Daimaah Posted April 12, 2005 Share Posted April 12, 2005 Ok, here's the deal: I somehow managed to associate .exe files to open in Notepad by default. So running (double clicking or just pressing enter) any application... it opens in Notepad and I get this jimbo jambo. Ok, so I managed to make a "quick fix" to it by adding exe association in "Tools - Folder Options - File Types" and then pressing "Restore". (Restores it to "Open with: %1). Ok, so now I can run the programs again, but it's still lacking the original function. Whenever I drag and drop an .exe file, it asks if I want to open it. And the icons aren't showing up either, it's just that dump "default .dat look-a-like icon". I have tried some registry cleaners, but they are not able fix the problem. Can someone help me restore the original functionality? :blush: And yeah, I have no Restore Points, so don't offer me that. :no: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
