[Req] Windows Server Desktop Forum

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if it would be possible to have a "Windows Server 2003 - Workstation" within the "Windows Server 2003" Forum.

Personally I think this would decrease the amount of current "It isnt called Server 2003 for it to be run as a Workstation OS" attitude there is at the moment, as more and more people are acctually using the Server OS as a Workstation OS, acctual Server 2000/2003 problems wont get mixed up with Workstations problems, so to speak.

Choc

ATM? where the hell have you been!? its been that way since its incarnation.

People who understand server technology understand its purpose people who don't (IMO) are the noobs running it as a desktop operating syste.

And I would have to say that I share that opinion.

Never seen the point to run it as a desktop.

What? Other than it running far better than XP in a lot of places? I've had my system running for weeks under 2K3 as a workstation. Had to reboot far more often under XP Pro.

I think the main argument for a Windows 2K3 as Workstation Forum is that for troubleshooting and so forth, it behaves differently from XP, but the kind of questions people would want to ask are those that people who use it as server either wouldn't know or wouldn't have time for. A sub-forum in the 2K3 main forum would suite this purpose.

Wait until PF Prophet gets a hold of you

oh god, not this stupid bs again, yes some people think that it should only be used for a server, yes some people thinks that it is great for a desktop workstation as well, no matter how much we sit here arguing about it it is not going to change the fact that some people will still disagree and use it as a desktop,

now that everything is settled NO it is still the same OS no matter what people decided to use it for, so it would be pointless to make a subforum/forum for it, besides Neowin has enough forums/subforums as it is.
