This news is going to change almost daily. TO wants more money from the Eagles. This is only one year after he signed a 7 year $49 million contract. He also fired his agent David Joesph, who didn't file the papers to get him released from the 49ers. He hired Drew Rosenhaus as his new agent. His new agent calls his current deal "sub-standard deal".

The salary cap for NFL teams is $83 million (I think).? Plus teams have to pay for a roster of 52 players, not 10-12 players.? $7 million is a lot of money for a single player in the NFL.

what is he complaining about then he is making overhalf the salary cap. and he still has a running back and a quarter back he is competing with. Mcnabb being one of the best.

To be fair, he is one of the best WR's playing right now and if you compare his salary to other top WR's then it's easy to see why he wants it changed..

Moss w/Vikings - 8 years for $75 million.

Harrison w/Colts - 7 years for $67 million.

Owens w/Eagles - 7 years for $49 million.

[Rookie] Fitzgerald w/Arizona - 6 years for $40 base upto $60 million.

and none of those teams will win a SB in the next 8 years.

don't they see the current forumla, and how it works best. thats what i like about the patriots (as of now). 3 super bowls later, and it still really hasn't gone to their head (for the most part).

I agree, but if the teams are paying this much then really he should get paid nearly the same for his performance.

The Eagles did make the Superbowl last year, and (afaik) should have a good enough team to get back this year, especially against the NFC.. winning as you said may not happen though.

I can vouch that the people in Philadelphia and the suburbs are ****ed. No one here is going to be suprised if he is traded. Freddie Mitchell is a dead man walking and TO is just making people here more angry. He signed a contract and he should just deal with it. If he wanted more then he should of did it when the contract was made and not threaten to sit out during training camp and preseason. I do not think people want to put up with three months of training camp if there is going to tons of contraversey surrounding it. It will be distracting for the players to get ready for the season. Plus when the season starts and he is not practiced all of the routes and plays that he has to do, which will just make it more difficult for the team.

Hmm.... I think T.O. is full of himself. From this: http://www.jagfire.net/nfl/owen****.gif to this: http://www.jagfire.net/nfl/to_rips_sign.gif to this crap. I would tell him, work with this, or find a new team. They've got plenty of other good recievers on the Eagles.

Um actually they don't lol. But yeah I think the guy needs to shut up and play. I saw him on some CNBC interview where he pulled the Latrell Sprewell and talked about taking care of his family. He had $8 million from a signing bonus when he signed the contract. That's gotta be enough (even after taking out for agent, lawyer, all the other people athletes need to pamper them, and taxes) to put money away for 2-3 kids for college and buy yourself a nice home. Athletes making over $1 million a year playing the family card is just ridiculous. Especially when the majority of the people paying to attend your games are making less than 6 figure salaries a year and managing to get by. JUST FRIGGIN PLAY

Unfortunately, he's the only person lol. And I don't think he's going to still be in Philly when the next season starts lol. And just one last thing on Owens. I'm a person who actually didn't care much about all his on the field stuff. The pom-poms, the Ray Lewis dance, the standing on the Cowboys star (not in sequential order). I thought he was an idiot but I didn't care. If you don't wnat him doing those things, stop him. But first "jokingly" taking a shot at McNabb and now this? DO your trash-talking during the game and leave it at that. And sadly, as much of an idiot he is for opening his yap too much, I still feel that he's one of few NFL players who DON'T get into serious legal issues off the field. If he would just keep his mouth shut he'd be a near model player.

Yeah, he is WAY to braggy.

as a diehard eagles fan.. i hope this gets settled... i would def like to keep TO for next season... luckily Andy Reid and the Eagles staff is brilliant at managing the salary... ill cross my fingers.. id like to see Philly take home the SuperBowl...

Yeah I wish they would've won this years... But that's because I hate the patriots more than the Eagles. :D

wow, are you serious? how can any multi-million dollar/year athlete say that? thats just absurd. i agree 100% though, just friggin play.

and to think I almost had a little respect for him after the heart he showed in the superbowl. Oh well. Again, i've said this many times before. Athletes should not be allowed to speak, period. Nothing good ever comes from it. (now I am talking about the dig he took at McNabb about not playing hard at the superbowl)

    • Thanks for liking it! 😊 That's Arch Linux with Gnome.
    • LOL. Can't even quote and edit a comment correctly. Figures you're a Linux user.
    • It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?
