how about for ubuntu?

They should put out the security update soon on the Ubuntu software repositories. The update-notifier in the system tray should eventually notify you when that happens.

In the mean time, here's the Official Linux package for Mozilla Firefox.

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/fir...ox-1.0.3.tar.gz

What I did was extracted it:

Opened a terminal window

Went to the download location using the cd command

sudo tar zxvf firefox-1.0.3.tar.gz -C /usr/lib

Opened up nautilus as root

sudo nautilus --no-desktop --browser

Went to /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox

Copied the links from my plugins in the Firefox plugins folder to /usr/lib/firefox/plugins

Copied firefox.sh from the Firefox folder to /usr/lib/firefox

Renamed /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox as /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox-1.0.2

Renamed /usr/lib/firefox as /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox

Keep in mind some of the defaults that Mozilla sets in preferences are different than the ones Ubuntu sets.

That's for the impatient people. Otherwise wait for .deb file to turn up at debian.org or the Ubuntu Update Notifier.

And Firefox still crashes when I vist this page!

My eyes bled when I saw it. I think that's not good.

Hey, i just thought ill comment on one thing. I just recently made the switch from IE to firefox. At first i was hesitant because of the features and stuff mainly because im a web devoloper but... holy cow! what an amazing browser! The thing in my oppionion that firefox hold out on over ie is the ammount of customization and tweaking thats possible. hell, if you wanted to you could make firefox into IE except a hell of alott faster. Firefox know has my vote hands down to beat the hell out of ie and put it to rest.
