When you open preferences > advanced > toobars do you see two entry's?

You should have one called opera standard and one called My Modified menu, you have to select the my modified one and click ok.

If you haven't changed anything on the file I made then the menu will look exactly the same as the default one.

Don't need too much clutter, and I prefer to see as much of a page as possible, so the GUI is quite toned down.

You can streamline it even further if you remove the menu bar and set the tab bar to autohide if you only have one tab open. Also if you use the breeze skin it will save you even more space.

Argh.. another update. This time I modded the skin slightly (editing a few lines in the skin's skin.ini) to give the browser a light grey border (versus the harsh black) and removed the UGLY bevel for the status bar. These two small changes make the skin look a bit nicer, IMO.

Also rearranged the popup View toolbar, and added a Fullscreen button. It makes the fullscreen function like IE's and Firefox's instead of just a plain toolbarless fullscreen view.

Nice and simple. Originally there was no bookmarks panel, but I got fed up with typing in the adresses for all of the sites I visit many times a day. And I absolutely DESPISE wading through menus, so this was the only option, as I also despise sidebars.

As for back/forward, I use my MX700, because I am too lazy too learn mouse gestures. Though one day...

mine? just changed over from FF

and im LOVEING !!!!!! it?:woot:t::woot:ot::woot:ot:

Right click on the address bar and check the box next to personal bar.

About the button next to the new page button, do you mean to have an icon to show all bookmarks or an actual bookmark??

I think he meant an icon that displays the Bookmarks menu when clicked.

Go to the Appearance dialog and select the option to view hidden toolbars. Notice the 'start toolbar' (it's located right under the address bar). There should be a bookmarks toolbar button there; just drag it to where you want it to be. (If it's not there, select the start toolbar, the 'Buttons' tab, the first category, then 'reset the toolbar to its defaults.'

To save even more space, use this button. (Click on the THIRD button in the list.) It's a 'home' toolbar button that shows your bookmarks if you click on the dropdown arrow.

Right click on the address bar and check the box next to personal bar.

OK. Follow these steps carefully.

I'm assuming you're trying to convert Firefox bookmarks to Opera. Not a problem.

1) Open up Firefox. Click Bookmarks, Manage Bookmarks. In the Bookmarks Manger, click File, Export. Save this file somewhere on your hard drive.

2) Open up Opera. Click File, Import and Export, Import Netscape/Firefox bookmarks. Select the file.

3) Now click Bookmarks, Manage bookmarks (in Opera).

4) On the right, find the folder that reads 'Netscape bookmarks.' Expand it. Select the Bookmarks Toolbar folder. On the right side (containing your bookmarks), select each item, right click, and click 'Show on personal bar.' This includes folders as well.

5) Right click anywhere in the toolbar area. Click 'Customize.' In the Toolbars tab, make sure 'Personal bar' is checked. Click OK.

That should be it.
