I'm sorry but the honeymoon period for Renault, Toyota et al, is sadly over. Ferrari will have a 1-2 at San Marino. It's gonna be the start of another beautiful season for the Scuderia.

They 'let' the other teams dominate the start of the season to increase viewing figures for the sport.

Now the real sason starts :D

And yes, I'm Tifosi so I'm biased

Raikkonen takes overnight pole - by 0.003secs!  :omg:

I know, very very close, I don't like this two part qualifying session, you don't get the drama, Hopefully they are planning to change the system.

Hopefully either Alonso or Raikkonen take it, should be interesting to see how Ferarri and Bridgestone fight back

and i hope ferrari poor run continues.... :p

Amen to that

Montoya, Alonso and Raikonnen are my fav drivers. But since Montoya is injured then I personally hope Raikonnen can get the win because he deserves it. But I think Alonso will win though, Kimi will get technical problems.

Looking good for alonso and renault. Raikonnen was winning up to 6th lap but had a problem and his race finished. Here's the positions so far.

1 F Alonso (Renault)

2 J Button (BAR)

3 J Trulli (Toyota)

4 M Webber (Williams)

5 T Sato (BAR)

6 A Wurz (McLaren)

7 J Villeneuve (Sauber)

8 R Barrichello (Ferrari)

Another great performance from Alonso. His third straight win. Schummi couldn't do enough to beat Alonso. He's in 2nd. Button with a great race in 3rd.

The results:

1 F Alonso (Renault)

2 M Schumacher (Ferrari)

3 J Button (BAR)

4 A Wurz (McLaren)

5 T Sato (BAR)

6 J Villeneuve (Sauber)

7 J Trulli (Toyota)

8 R Schumacher (Toyota)

Good job Alonso and Renault.

Anyone know specifically what happened to Kimi's car?

a joint failed in the driveshaft - very unlucky, he would have gone on to win it though

What the hell were ITV doing, showing adverts with 3 laps to go, at the most exciting part of the race.

Agreed, the program director should be sacked, worst decision ever, well at least they showed it again at the end but it ruined the moment,

One of the most exciting races I have seen in some time, that Ferrari was on steroids.

Looking forward to the next one.

    • One reason it might be running hotter is dust build up within the cooling or perhaps the paste has dried out. You could always try repasting your old GPU and cleaning the cooler. Your experience in Linux will be much better with an AMD GPU; the performance in gaming is much closer to Windows than nVidia would be. I personally think on Windows, AMD drivers are junk.
    • I reviewed it back in March, but I didn't have a 5070 at the time https://www.neowin.net/reviews/amd-rx-9070-review-vs-rtx-5070-4070-and-rx-9070-xt-7800-xt--just-good-enough/ When I reviewed the 9070 I did have a 5070 to compare it against, so the scores are there for the 9070 XT. it outperforms the 5070 in raster, and is barely neck and neck in Ray Tracing. So it's better than a 5070 in everything but Ray Tracing where it is neck and neck, or just under. To be honest, the uplift from 3080 when it was new to the 9070 XT is not as great a step up. If you can find a used 4080 Super for around the same money, you would probably be better off, but if you only want to buy new then the 16GB 9070 XT is the best value for money in its category.
    • I really hope the author's health is ok. Squirreling away a official backup of this software. Looks like the internet archive already cached a copy as well - https://web.archive.org/web/20...ldbit-soft.fi/software.html
    • AMD is supported out of the box in linux because of their open source driver. Nvidia does not. All my systems are amd and all of them work nicely on linux arch without doing anything.
    • Never had a problem with TPM and started using that many years ago in Win10. Through several motherboards and OS versions, it just does what it does without complaint. My games library doesn't even know it's there. Secure boot does a lot more than support anti-cheat, as it came along long before anti-cheat software. I've used it religiously since before I started using TPM, and I always liked it for being able to nullify virus contagions that try their best to come in underneath the firmware during boot, so that the OS doesn't see them, etc. That is its purpose, imo. I'll never understand why people who elect to use another OS feel compelled to run down Windows... I guess they need to do that to feel secure about their choices? I run Windows because it supports all the software (including games) natively that I want to buy, and I've never had to run down another OS to make me feel better about it. (Although it's certainly possible to do that, of course...) Win10 is on a ventilator atm, and Win11 is very close to being free, and I finally got to stop running StartAllBack as I moved to the Experimental/Dev channel and my 26300.8553 build supports the moveable taskbar and it's running fine at the top of the screen! Finally, my last major dislike of Win11 is being rectified! So, I'm not at all surprised to see Win11's share of the Steam survey hitting 70%.
