i read somewhere around here that xbox360 cannot play xvid files, is that true ?

what video extensions xbox/x360 can handle ?

I got already dissapointed when i found that i couldnt record TV shows with it...now if it wont play some extensions im definitively out. :cry:

Well look what great news i got from gameplay.com and i pre-ordered the console on the second day of pre-orders way before the 23/08/05 cut off date. Nice of them to tell me 15 days before release. Is the UK getting like 10 xbox360s

Had quite the relief today.

I went to my local gamestop and picked up some of my pre-ordered games (CoD2, Condemned, NBA 2k6, and PGR3) and told them i had gotten that automated GS call saying I could pick up my system @ midnight on monday. He asked if I had seen their list yet, and I said no. He pulled it out and showed me the reserve list. Out of the 28 consoles, I was #24 :). Then I asked him what time i should line up, and he said 11:45 would be fine, especially since there'll only be about 20 people there.

Well, I'm extremely happy and just had to post that. :D

Hey guys, haven't posted in a while.

Does anyone know if it's possible to transfer a current X Box Live account over to the X Box 360? I thought I read something about that a few months ago, but now that I have the next generation at my fingertips I can't figure it out.

when it asks you if you have a Xbox Live account, you say that you're a member (initial setup, when u first turn on your x360.) To make thing easier, make sure your XBL account is linked w/ a MS passport. Then all you do is provide your email addy + password, and it's recovered :) See u on XBL like...tomorrow? btw, did u get any games..like did harry bust out more $$$ :D

I expected PD to be better - though I haven't played it yet I hear it plays much like the N64 version with updated 'shiny' graphics

Best thing to do is play it for yourself. A lot of people are having differing views on the game right about now, so the only opinion you should trust is your own.

So whats the final verdict on noise/heat/overheating? For some strange reason Australia is getting a bundle with PDZ + a Game this week (even though we get the console in March :\), so I wouldn't want to buy it all and then come release time find that I've been completely turned off ithe console because of its issues. :p
