[Definitive] Xbox 360 Thread

Is the only way to store music and videos on my xbox through Windows-Media-Connect?

If so big bummer.

P.s Can we have this as a sticky again please? Surely it doesn't matter if it's against the rules because it's been released or whatever, just alot easier to find it that way.

Thanks :)

What is the better option, VGA or Component, my dell 24'' has both option,

Does component already come with Premium?

For a TV with 1080i, I think Component. The Xbox 360 VGA Adapter goes up to 720p. I'm not sure about picture quality either way.

I would think VGA, but I'm no expert on that.

Yeah I think so, it wasnt hard to set-up though, just wish I had a stronger signal to stream recorded tv with :)

Finally was able to get a premium system on Jan 1st... went right to Walmart after a party on New Years(3am)..was the 3rd and 4th there(me and my girl got there after another couple<--1:30am).. got to sit in the car till 6am or so since everyone agreed to keep their respective order.....around 6:45am walmart manager came out and said we have 4 premium and 10 core... so luckily I was able to pick up a premium for myself and brother-in-law... overall not a terrible experience... just was tired as hell for the rest of the day..

So as I said on the last page, I was able to order one online last week through Circuit City's site. I was very excited when I saw it shipped the same day too, although that was New Years Eve so I did not expect all that much.

Then I actually saw that the games and extra controller that were part of the bundle shipped seperately from the console itself. On top of that they only gave a tracking number for the console which was through FedEx, and the games and everything else were just coming via US Postal Priority with no tracking number.

So I check Sunday and I saw the console is coming in Thursday! (Y) Sweet right?

Well, it is almost like some sick, twisted form of torture since the games and extra controller came today!!!!

I am not complaining at all, since I know they are still hard to get, just thought I would share it so you guys could get a good laugh, cause I sure did.

Is anyone bored enough to take a picture of the Samsung 26" LCD (the 'official tv') playing a DVD via the Xbox 360? Saw one in the shop playing a dvd on a normal dvd player and it was just meh....so hoping its just that setup they had. :\

DirtyLarry:

Has the 360 arrived yet? :p

  Nope, looks like tomorrow. This is absolute torture!!!!

You think you've got torture?! I've got to wait another...57 days for mine, and I got the VIP pack which has PDZ + a controller in it.. I take it out every day or so and press the buttons :p

DL, did your gamefly games come in yet?

Nope, it also looks like my GameFly game will come in tomorrow hopefully as well.

If it does that is a pretty good turn around I can definitely live with.

And I forgot to say thank you in that PSP thread for that Mac app you linked to. Looks pretty damn sweet for sure. (Y)

And damn PC_Madness, I take everything back I said about torture. You definitely are going through an insane amount of torture!!! I truly do take it back...

however I do think that is classic though that you said you take it out and push the buttons every day or so. (Y) Quote of the month as far as I am concerned.

I have to wait till Monday to get mine :-( It's not toooo bad I guess, I just want to play the FNR3 demo! I ordered mine from samsclub.com. 450 for a premium system, extra wireless controller and a play and charge kit. You basically get the play and charge for free which is nice.

Damn that is real nice. First bundle I have heard of that you actually get something for free honestly.

Enjoy when you get it. (Y)

And has it been confirmed the FNR3 demo is officially out?

I heard rumors it was tonight, but I have not read if it definitely was released for sure. That would be sweeeet.

Yup, it actually has been out for a few hours. I just can't get enough of those close up knock out punches! :D

i got a bundle from costco on dec 10. premium 360 (400), PGR3 (50), extra wireless controller (50), and play and charge kit (20). so that should be $520, yet they were selling it for $478.

that was the first time i've ever bought something at launch and actually paid less than MSRP.

LMFAO!!!! i do that too!, but maybe only once every 1 or 2 weeks, not every day :p

lucky biatch...  :p

that's why you most buy consoles/games from wal-mart and costco and not from game stores like ebgames or gamestop... :p

    • Sandboxie Plus 1.17.8 / Classic 5.72.8 by Razvan Serea Run programs in a sandbox to prevent malware from making permanent changes to your PC. Sandboxie allows you to run your browser, or any other program, so that all changes that result from the usage are kept in a sandbox environment, which can then be deleted later. Sandboxie is a sandbox-based isolation software for 32- and 64-bit Windows NT-based operating systems. It is being developed by David Xanatos since it became open source, before that it was developed by Sophos (which acquired it from Invincea, which acquired it earlier from the original author Ronen Tzur). It creates a sandbox-like isolated operating environment in which applications can be run or installed without permanently modifying the local or mapped drive. An isolated virtual environment allows controlled testing of untrusted programs and web surfing. Sandboxie is available in two flavors Plus and Classic. Both have the same core components, this means they have the same level of security and compatibility. What's different is the user interface the Plus build has a modern Qt based UI which supports all new features that have been added since the project went open source. The Classic build has the old no longer developed MFC based UI, hence it lacks support for modern features, these features can however still be used when manually configured in the Sandboxie.ini. Sandboxie Plus 1.17.8 / Classic 5.72.8 release notes: Added added DisableCustomTitleOpt=[process,][y|n] to allow [#] sandboxie title markers on custom-titlebar windows (Delphi VCL, Qt, Electron) that were previously skipped to prevent DWM repaint CPU loops #5387 Changed updated bundled ImDisk driver to 3.0.2 #5419 Fixed fix Suppress logs for expected non-user SIDs #5422 SbieSvc.exe: SBIE2218/2219 error when run program as administrator #5417 fixed explorer.exe crashes in Application Compartment when Huorong Security is installed #5423 Download: Sandboxie Plus (64-bit) | 23.5 MB (Open Source) Download: Sandboxie Classic (64-bit) | 3.0 MB Links: Sandboxie Website | GitHub | ARM64 | Screenshot Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
    • Hello, Christian Maas' XVI32 is a nice (and very small) hex editor. Speaking of hex editors, many years ago a colleague and I who both worked at Tribal Voice managed to edit a copy of the company's PowWow instant messaging client to make it behave better now that all of its lookup servers and other server-side tech was gone.  The program didn't support NAT (RFC-3022 was introduced in January 2001, the same time Tribal Voice was shuttered), but it still worked okay if you manually set up port-forwarding on your router.  The server at http://powwow.jazy.net/ hosts a copy (usual warnings about downloading and running untrusted code from random internet servers apply). I occasionally use some tools like Funduc Software's Search and Replace and Application Mover when I need to make mass-edits to text-based files or move programs with a hard-coded installation directories, respectively.  When I need to figure out the exact LCD panel inside of a laptop, EnTech Taiwan's Monitor Asset Manager is my go-to tool for that purpose. JD Design's website (now hosted on github.io) has a number of interesting freeware and shareware utilities.  I used to use their TouchPro utility to set the file timestamps on software I was mastering to match its version number (e.g., version 3.00 of a program had all of its files dates set to 3:00AM, and so forth). Karenware has a number of interesting freeware utilities, too. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • I still use HexChat! Not really as ancient as the 1994 AutoCAD above my post, but I have never found anything better to replace it. Yes we still operate an IRC server https://www.neowin.net/irc/ 😛
    • At work we still have a couple of people that use a version of AutoCAD LT purchased in 1994. This predates Windows 95 and works fine on versions of Windows up to XP. Its long since run in an locked down isolated XP VM, accessible via RDP. I did install LibreCAD for them, however they said it was just too different to get to grips with. In all fairness one of them is now 75 and the other is almost 60.
