How to get your warning level down?

Recommended Posts

Hey this is strange...

I received a warning from shockz a few months ago. He said he increased my warning level, because I posted a funny picture. Anyways, my warning level isn't at 0% then, that's for sure.

But recently, I beleive it was Joel who changed my name from Status_Seeker to status_seeker... So what's up with that? I thought I had a warning level, but I was still allowed to change my name. :s

Because you weren't changing your name from Juan Valdez to [[rgfd]-{Y}

Shorter answer; you didn't really change your name, you changed the case of some letters. We will also change members names to remove special characters, such as ?, no matter the warn level.

Ahhh oka:):) Thanks!:D:D

please do not change me back. But I have a warning level of 40 and I a mod let me change my name from SilentSalamander to Mr Farrar with no problem. The case was alot of people googleing my site were finding these darn threads so I had to take care of it. And yes I think being able to see your warning level is a very very good idea.

I personally think that the warning level should stay. But I also think that maybe after some time (maybe a year and a half or so), if the offence wasn't that bad and the mods feel that the person has really smartened up since then, that they may take it away.

I admit I have a warning level (don't know if it's 10 or 20%) for saying something really stupid about cracking Windows (which I also noted was illegal in the same post). I didn't give any links and I told them not to PM me cause I don't help or condone illegal activities (yes my version of Windows is legit).

Anyways, I recieved the warning and instantly realised what I said may have been wrong and I accepted my mistake and wrote an apology to the mod about my post (I knew it wouldn't take away my warning level but I wanted the mod to know that I understood what I did wrong and I wasn't going to make that mistake again).

So far I have never recieved a single warning and I have tried to stay as close to the rules as I possibly can.

The sad part about the warning is just a week or two earlier, I had PMed a mod for a name change. The name I wanted to change to was JUST registered (wasn't when I had thought about it). So I was thinking of a new name to change too and then this heppened.

I don't want to be forgiven for my mistakes at all because I know what I did was wrong and I would have probably given out a warning myself if that situation, but I just hope the mods understand that it was one small mistake and one step over the line which I didn't want to exactly take in the first place. I just want to change my nickname once cause this one has been "over" and past tense for about a year and a half now.

I didn't warn you for posting a "funny picture". Why would I do that

I warned you for something completely different. Check your PM if you still have it.

Can I just get this account deleted and re-register under a new nick because I so do not want this nick no more, It's now known as Kangie's nick, long story but to make it short she is now known on the net as Mess.be Fanatic, and I am now known as XxRebelSeanxX...

No.

If we erase your account, then we erase all information such as warns, ip address, etc. We use all of that information to keep track of duplicate accounts and behavior history.

shockz I have same bad news for you!

You, a mod, broke rule number 3, espically in a thread about warnings :-/

Rule 3:

No Cursing or Swear words. We encourage you to use our Communities as a forum to debate topics, but please use proper adjectives to express yourself. We do not tolerate circumvention of our word filter or abuse upon another member.

Maybe another mod should warn him :-p

I can say **** or **** as long as I don't bypass the word filter. ;)

Do what I do, don't worry about it. Look not to be ****ing people off as well. Then you have no problems. The mods and admins are quite anal about obscure rules, which they alone decide what means at any given time. If you value posting here, then do your best to follow the guidelines, otherwise, happy trails...

I had a warning level in the past, but when I view my own profile page, there is none.  Am I missing something as far as looking it up, or did it go away?

585845148[/snapback]

I see it is still there; it didn't go away.

PM a mod to get details.

    • Same Internet Archive seemed to grab the new version https://web.archive.org/web/20...d/Setup_MakeMKV_v1.18.4.exe Here's the link to an additional file it periodically downloads https://web.archive.org/web/20260213092148/https://www.makemkv.com/sdf.bin I think update's keys, etc. To manually trigger this update, put the sdf.bin file in the root of where the program is installed. When you launch the program it will pick up the file and import it. Typically put it here: C:\Program Files (x86)\MakeMKV\sdf.bin
    • Windows 11 KB5094126, KB5093998 bugging out Office apps but it may not be Microsoft's fault by Sayan Sen Microsoft last week released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. Although the tech giant did not acknowledge any major problems, some users online reported various issues ranging from OneDrive and Dropbox access problems, BitLocker recovery lockouts, to blue screens and BSODs. You can read about them in this dedicated piece. While there is still no confirmation about those problems from Microsoft the company has admitted to another bug which we did not report on. The tech giant has confirmed it has received reports of an issue in which certain third-party applications may be unable to launch Microsoft Office apps or open Office documents after installing the Patch Tuesday. This affects both Windows 11 as well as Windows 10. The company says the problem impacts a subset of applications that rely on OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) automation to communicate with Microsoft Office programs. According to Microsoft, affected scenarios involve third-party software attempting to open Office applications or documents from within their own interface. In such cases, the Office program may fail to launch altogether, or the requested document may not open. Oddly there may not be any error message, which probably makes the issue difficult to diagnose. The bug affects several Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other apps in the Microsoft Office suite when they are launched through the affected software. These include tax and accounting software such as CCH Engagement and Workpaper Manager, dental practice management solutions like Dentrix and Softdent, as well as the popular research and reference management tool Zotero. Microsoft adds that other applications using similar Office integration methods could also experience the same problematic behavior. To understand the issue it is important to look at OLE, the Microsoft technology involved. OLE allows different applications to work together and share data, while its Automation feature lets one program control another. Thus this enables third-party software to launch Microsoft Office apps, open documents, and perform tasks automatically without requiring users to switch between programs. Because many accounting, healthcare, research, and business applications rely on OLE automation to interact with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office apps, any disruption can break those workflows. As a result, affected software may be unable to open Office documents or launch Office applications even though the programs themselves continue to work normally. At the moment the company has not provided a permanent fix though it has confirmed that engineers are actively working on a resolution, which will be delivered through a future Windows update. As such additional details will be shared once more information becomes available. In the meantime, Microsoft recommends a simple workaround for affected users whic is to open the Office application or document directly rather than launching it through the third-party program. For enterprise customers and organizations managing larger deployments, Microsoft says an additional mitigation is available. Admins experiencing the problem on their managed devices are advised to contact Microsoft Support for business to obtain and apply the workaround.
