Nintendo Revolution.

Recommended Posts

Since this forum is so racked with Xbox 360 topics I said to my self; would it not be a grand idea to have something other than a Xbox 360 Thread...And then the fight started.

*Little Demon Voice*

HEHEHE! Yes this ought to put those damn Xbox fans to pain, and cause some hell on the fourms as well! No one likes Nintendo any more so why not! HEHEHE!

*Little Angel Voice*

"Do unto others has you would- "

*Demon voice* Shut your trap you white wrought nancy ******! Post it now damn it!

Oh ok fine.

Anyway.

Nintendo has probably the most mysterious under-wraps console coming out this year or the next, yet no one has even spoken a word of interest over what they have planned, and as they have stated they're going to try to bring new things to the table other than just enhanced graphics like the PS3 and xbox 360 users will be getting.

So who here besides my self and my Daemons *HEHEHE!* are interested in their console? Possibly buying it when it comes out? And !OMGWTFBBQ! think it'll blow the other two away?

By the way no flame wars, no Console vs Console wars either, yes the description was a insult but only teasingly.

So the three questions or observations are:

Are you vaguely interested?

Will you be purchasing it when it comes out? (depending on what they show)

And !OMGWTFBBQ! Do you believe it'll blow the other two way in what they may/have planned? (requires a bit of foresight and fanboyism for this question)

Nintedo has always had the top consules in my opinion, but that is because they release the style of games I like. You see, i like games such as The Legend of Zelda series, more fantasy and story oriented, that to me is the type of genre that nintendo usually develops. I like the Ps2 and the XBOX for the simulator and realism aspects of their games.

Now to answer your questions.

1. I am definately interested and any sites or info you can throw my way would be greatly appreciated.

2. Like darkyi I bought the gamecube on its release day and I plan to do the same for the next system.

3. I think it will blow the other two away.

I just wnated to say your post wasn't funny so you should stop trying to act funny with !OMGWTFBBQ and your little imaginary friends you call daemons.

I personally am not interested in console gaming anymore, There just computers 'made' for gaming, so just buy a good computer with good graphics and u can play all the games you want.

My tuppence is this:

I am an XBOX gamer, will stay an XBOX gamer for a long time. Not because I am going to get XBOX360, but because I like the system I already have.

I do not think much of the GC's graphics, but I respect the fact that it is THE system for "party fun" games and gameplay > graphics!!!! Monkeyball, etc, just rock, and for that reason, I am considering a GC.

Then why the did you post in here? Just to insult me and tell me to get a computer?

Already have one, but console games are also fun, so EXCUSE me.

I'll be supporting Nintendo till the end.

They helped start a revolution in gaming so the title is perfect.

@Axel, i think you should go back shoving cards up.... whoops almost lost my head there.

If you dont like Nintendo go to a Sony or MS thread.

Why do people fail to realize that answers are always SIMPLE.

As of now I'm not much interested in the Revolution, because Nintendo hasn't brought enough to the table with the Gamecube that holds my interest. I was a diehard N64 fan, and when the Gamecube first released I didn't favor one console over the other. It's just that over time either my tastes have changed or Nintendo's swerved off course (IMHO).

Unless there are some games in development for it that look interesting, I won't be buying one at launch. Within a year or two of its release I'll have one regardless however.

As for if Nintendo will blow anyone away...I can't say since I don't know what's coming, but if something good than they should be able to "wow" the enthusiastic gamers. The average joe will be a lot harder to impress however (all this is my opinion).

-bYtE,Apr 26 2005, 15:54]I'm very interested in what the Revolution will do. Reading about the rumors about some stereotopic view lately really excites me. But they are only rumors. Gonna be watching the live feed from Nintendo's conferance at E3 for sure :)

585832503

if there will be a live feed. and i won't be at school during the time.. (or working) for sure i'll be joining you  .

after getting my DS and understanding how fun touchscreens can be. i hope it comes with touchscreens and a mario party upon launch so i can have a mario party with touchscreen mini games

i love the mini games in Mario 64 DS

and this might be my first picking up a console on a launch.. thats how much i am anticipating it (if there is a mario party upon launch :p )

If it has free online im in. If i have to pay for online im getting a dog. :s

Online should be free, because the Big N pres says he doesnt like the idea of paying for it.

But the main reason i'll get one is because Nintendo Sticks by its products. For example there are going to be some killer games coming out for GC. And the system life is almost over. I cant say the same towards Xbox and Ps2

I'm looking forward to it very much. I believe Nintendo has made mistakes in the past- namely the Virtual Boy- but they've always delivered such brilliant gaming experiences overall. Zelda? Metroid? Mario? All three might as well be synonymous with "video game."

585833928

And there in lies the problem. They rely on a few characters to save their asses, all too often.

Seeing as how the only thing I really like from Nintendo is their games (Mario, Metroid, Zelda, etc) I'm kinda hoping they go the way of Sega nad just develop games. Then again, since Nintendo is a lot stronger in Japan, with the Xbox being nothing over there, I don't think they'll do that. It has the plus side of giving the industry more competition which = good for the gamers. (better games, less expensive consoles/games/accessories...)

And I definitely see the DS as another Virtual Boy. I see Nintendo failing in the US because of their emphasis on children's games and the fact that they made the DS, then abandoned it. There really aren't many good games for the ds, and I know that mine is just collecting dust while I use my psp or gba.

585832407

and you apparently haven't priced a decent cpu, motherboard, ram, video card and hard drive recently, have you?

you can't play current games on a $300 - 500 PC. Just the video card required to play games like HL2 and Doom3 are almost the price of a whole console. So just buying a good computer is not really an option for a lot of people.

Anyways, i'm very skeptical of nintendo these days. I hope i'm wrong, but it feels like they have fallen on hard times, and are just coming up with gimmicks (DS) as new products. IMO, games have been graphics driver since the day they were invented, and the progress of graphics is the only thing constantly improving. The stance of "graphics don't matter" is something i honestly don't believe is true, or else most games would still be playing atari, and no one would have a ps2 or xbox.

again, i really hope i'm wrong, but IMO, the graphics need to be as good or better than PS3/Xbox, AND they need to have something innovative. otherwise it's just gonna be the same old games all over again.

Nintendo is original but uninnovative.  I really don't think there is room for them in the next gen console market.  They should just develop games.

NEVER........

and by some chance that happens (better not happen) they better back up Sony...i dont want to see a Zelda on Xbox :pinch:

I do not even know why some of you would suggest that Nintendo should just stick to software. They have billions in reserve and make a profit each year, and they have only had one quater in their history they did not make a profit just because of the currency exchange rate. Sega was never in that good of shape to keep itself afloat. When the Dreamcast was coming out their was too much hype (much of it false) for the PS2 that the PS2 just put the nail in the coffin.

I don't hear anyone tell Apple to stop making their hardware even though Windows PC manufacturers own the PC market and that Apple should just stick to software. Apple owns barely any of their market just like Nintendo and they too are a profitable company just like Nintendo. I don't even hear any of you saying MS is should stop selling the XBox considering it has only sold 1 million more then the GameCube and has only made a profit for one quater the whole time it has been out. If the XBox was made by another company who did not have billions in the bank because of MS's other divisons backing it up, then it would have went the way of the dodo long ago with the XBox's 1.2 billion dollars in loses.

    • Can you read? I've said I'm willing to pay more for a notchless (no notch) 3:2 screen.
    • Not even an OLED display on the laptops. Also it seems that the laptop design isn't the same as the Surface Ultra model. Looks like bargain bin at high prices.
    • make your own notch - it's not that hard

Targeted at server, desktop and embedded use, it is now the only professional-quality virtualization solution that is also Open Source Software. Presently, VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Solaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, 7, 8, Windows 10 and Windows 11), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4, 2.6, 3.x, 4.x, 5.x and 6.x), Solaris and OpenSolaris, OS/2, OpenBSD, NetBSD and FreeBSD. Some of the features of VirtualBox are: Modularity. VirtualBox has an extremely modular design with well-defined internal programming interfaces and a client/server design. This makes it easy to control it from several interfaces at once: for example, you can start a virtual machine in a typical virtual machine GUI and then control that machine from the command line, or possibly remotely. VirtualBox also comes with a full Software Development Kit: even though it is Open Source Software, you don't have to hack the source to write a new interface for VirtualBox. • OK, now ask yourself how are they going to enforce that law? By requiring every single adult to prove their age and provide their legal identity documents to an UNREGULATED 3rd party company that already has a long track record of multiple data breaches. Not to mention, parliament have voted AGAINST this ban, twice, and Starmer is going ahead anyway. So, where's the democracy here, because that looks like dictatorship to me. The solution here is parental responsibility, not government control. Run some public service announcements on TV and UK social media teaching parents how to setup parental controls. That's already been proven to actually work. But the, this is not and has NEVER been about keeping kids safe. It's about control and monitoring. Watching what you're doing online and controlling what you can see and what you can say.
