threads merged and chaos ensues :s - timdorr heavy moderating industries

btw, we took this thing down for a reason.

1) people post links from sites that don't want their pictures linked.

2) These sites threaten to sue Neowin

3) Neowin goes bye bye.

Simple as that...

The babes section was taken down originally because of the load on the server (when attachments were enabled). Also, it is not something that fits in with the image of a tech news site. There are plenty of places to find babes, try searching google, or maybe going out even. :p

In all seriousness, a babes forum doesn't fit in with Neowin's image, it is hard to moderate and its not about to come back anytime soon. :)

neither is posting news about the Queen, and other non-tech related stuff...

oh come on..its just a fun place for people to post babes and talk about it .........thats all.....................i know there are lots of porn sites out there but thats NOT the purpose of a babe forum..........

plus there is no nudity on it so i think it doens't matter if you're 18 or not........................

I know it's fun, who doesn't like to see nice picture of a cick, but then again there are people who misused the forum, that's what we are most concern with.

I think the "real" ones already here may be put off by that statement.

If they see this thread, they'll all be scared of you anyway:

https://www.neowin.net/bboard/showthread.ph...&threadid=31245

:D

Where I come from, that Natalie Birthday thread isn't scary at all!

i actually ended up here somehow through the babes forum.... if it weren't for them.... i wouldn't be here today

nonetheless, i think that there should NOT be a babes forum because that's not what this website is all about. Its not like there are NO other places in the world wide web to find that kind of stuff. there are more than enough. neowin is a gem among the rest of its kind. it would be degrading to the site to see the babe forum come back.

that's my $.02

i guess aco's right but still i would like to see it just 4 the fun of it

The babes forum, as far as I'm concerned, was taken down because of a comment to Neobond from this stupid troll named concerneddad (right?). Mods, please give us another chance... how about these for rules:

1) Images must be hosted on own web site.

2) Images cannot be embedded into the post. Instead, they must be linked. That way, if people don't want to see a pic, then they simply don't have to click it.

3) All pics must have their good parts covered up (you know what I mean.)

Flame me, praise me, whatever! But I believe that the above mentioned rules will make an ideal babes forum if everyone sticks to those rules.

i still say no... dont want Neowin gone.. if you host those pics.. then you are voliating (spelling?) copyright of the owner of the picture..

so i say NO!

lol yeah we cant be sexist to the ladies now can we? :D u can use this Hunk Forum for all ur personal needs.  Just type in the name of the Hunk you want! It's that simple! ;)

I was kidding about a hunk forum. I love the fact that Neowin has all the tech talk I love and doesn't talk down to me while doing it. There are millions of babe and hunk sites to be found if someone needs that stuff.

If I want to look at hunks, I can look at some of the men I work with. I come to Neowin to read and learn.

    • Yeah, this is absolutely nothing new and EA have done it before. Burnout Paradise, released in 2008, had dynamic advertising billboards that were updated via the internet and targeted people based on location and what EA knew about them from their profile. It was particularly notable for the fact that the Obama presidential campaign ran ads in the game, in an attempt to reach a younger audience who didn't watch broadcast TV any more. It was by no means the first though. Battlefield 2142 from 2006 had the same thing. In fact, Neowin wrote a story about it back then. https://www.neowin.net/news/ba...-in-game-ads-clarification/
    • This is obviously aimed at the education where Apple has lost so much ground to Chromebooks in the last few years, but unless they come up with a comparable management system for education why would anyone switch back?
    • Here's how we arrived at that claim: Note that this is just Play Store downloads. The app is also available on the Galaxy App Store
    • Google Play states the app had more than 50 million downloads. What other metric do you suggest should be used?
    • MSN defined our generation in some ways, kind of like Snapchat and TikTok have done for future generations. I have great memories of the MSN era in the late 90s / early 2000s. In the UK everyone seemed to come home from School and go on MSN for the evening. We didn't really have mobile phones then, so other than going and knocking on your friends door it was a totally new way of interacting with people. I also loved how I could talk to people I’d met playing online games from around the world. Inviting people to NetMeeting and messing about with the shared white board and webcams was pretty fun, even if webcams only ran at a couple of fps over dial-up. All the random things you could do with MsgPlus! were really fun - I suspect that made a few people jump with /shello randomly blasting Mr Hankey out their speakers! Maybe I’m just nostalgic, however I do feel the internet and computers were more fun back then.
