STNG
Opera can use both browser engines - Presto and MSHTML(IE)! Opera can open web pages with MSHTML engine(used in Microsoft Internet Explorer). It's very useful for open IE-only web-sites inside Opera's browser window! See screenshots: http://kostia.gorodok.net/IEOpera.png http://kostia.gorodok.net/IEOpera2.png You can integrate Internet Explorer into Opera using Mozilla ActiveX plugin and special addon. INSTALLATION 1. Download working netscape-сompatible ActiveX plugins: http://vvs.post.lg.ua/Opera7/opera-plugins.zip Extract archive content into Opera\program\plugins\ directory. Don't forget enable plugins in Opera (press F12 and enable plugins). NEW UPDATE: Also you must edit path.js and correct path to existing in you computer For example: path='C:/Program Files/'; 2. Download special sidebar extension: http://vvs.post.lg.ua/Opera7/browser.zip Extract archive content into any folder for example into Opera\OpenInIE 3. For open active page in the Opera by IE engine just add into your user menu file(.INI) into section [Document Popup Menu] this line: Item, "Open with IE" = Go to page,"%FULL_PATH_TO_YOUR_BROWSER.HTM%\browser.htm?link=%u",,,"Blank" Note: browser.htm you can find in browser.zip archive. PROBLEMS There major problems. This solution doesn't work with Windows 98 and some other Windows/IE versions. Opera can crash or hangup in some cases with some windows(ie) version. BUT it can successfully work with some other Windows/IE version(just see screenshots) without any problems! To all: Please check this solution on your computer and wrote your result(success or not) with your software versions include: 1. Opera version 2. Windows version (include Service Pack version) 3. Internet Explorer version (include patches list if it is possible) Thanks. Edited May 9, 2005 by STNG

vcv
Opera has known this to be possible, but would never official sanction this, because it is a security risk. Only use this if you know what you are doing..
STNG
NEW UPDATE: Also you must edit path.js and correct path to existing in you computer For example: path='C:/Program Files/'; Tested with Windows SP2 - it's working! Additional solution: 1. Try to enable ActiveX in SP2 Security Center before. 2. Try to disable total ActiveX blocking from your Firewall. vcv Opera has known this to be possible, but would never official sanction this, because it is a security risk. I don't think so. Why it is security risk? It is security of Internet Explorer only. But anyway you don't have choose when you must visit IE-Only sites.

But let's say someone is running XP with w/o SP1 or SP2. Let's say one of their..oh.. crack/warez/something sites doesnt work and they use this to view it. Then let's say they get infected with spyware. Who do you think the person might blame? Sometimes it's Opera. If there is a security risk at all, Opera won't official sanction it. Don't get me wrong though, this is neat.
