Should an Apple order take this long..?

Recommended Posts

I might do that tomorrow, the more i think about this, the more i want teh iPod now lol.

How could Apple give in any more than they have though? They've given me ?20 and are apparantely shipping it high priority (although its going to take longer than my original order o___O).

Maybe I'll get some free stuff lol?

feh, dont count on it, maybe a gift card or something

Hah, slightly different but ive had a problem with TNT - Ordered an apple keyboard and mouse last saturday. Have been waiting this week every day for it... no joy. Get an email today asking me to contact TNT to arrange delivery - found that strange as normally they try and deliver and leave a note for you to call.

Once id called they asked for the tracking number on the card. I asked "what card" and she said the one they left when they tried to deliver on Monday! They never left anything and as far as im aware my dad was home at 10.30 when they apparently tried, whats with that :s Anywho, is meant to be delivered at 10 - 11 ish tomorrow now. Wooo!

Who knows, maybe they'll send me another iPod then Ill get 2 :p

Believe it or not, a similar thing happen to me a few years back when I ordered my Dual G4. I actually did get 2!!! :ninja:

Then my credit card called me the next day and said we noticed you just got charged an additional 2500$ for an item that you already got charged $2500 for 1 week ago.

Needless to say, the extra one went back right away.

Crazy thing is it was a customized order, so somehow they made me 2 computers to my specs, and it slipped through their system and they both got shipped.

My point in sharing this because it is slightly OT is yeah, I dont think Apple is always on the ball when it comes to orders.

Just sent this to apple and tnt...

Hi,

Ok I am really not happy.

I received confirmation on the 30th of April that the item had been dispatched, so I had someone wait in for over a week for it to arrive..

I called Apple (this was on the Monday evening), and they said it had been delivered and signed for on the Saturday at 10AM with the Surname "Marsh", but it hadn't... so I took to the internet... then I read the apple delivery and ordering horror stories.

So I decided, ok, cut out the middle man, and go straight to TNT.

I called TNT customer services, and they say that yes it had been signed for, and to check with all my neighbours... so I did, and no sign of the parcel... I looked like a right you know what knocking all the doors on the street...

I then called up TNT again, and was told that they would have to pass it over to another dept, and I would definately receive a call within an hour....

An hour and a half later, I got fed up waiting, and called them back - it hadn't been passed over, so they passed it straight over, but as it was after 5pm, they were unable to do anything until the next morning - and that I would definately receive a call... I waited in ALL DAY and not a call - so I called them in the evening, and was told it was being dealt with, and expect a call...

So the next day comes round, and at this point I am fuming.

I ring up again, and get passed to Jason in Manchester, who says they have found my parcel... it went to another part of the country - it was just by chance the lady phoned up TNT and said she had my parcel. If she hadn't phoned in, then they still would have been chasing their tails, looking for my parcel.

Anyway, this isn't the end of the story....

He told me that he was hopefully getting it picked up (yesterday), and that it would be with me today. He also told me that he would ring me back in the afternoon, so I had my hands on my mobile all day, and someone waiting by the home phone - no call.

Anyway, today comes round, and I call them again.. I spoke to some lady, who said that Jason wasn't in the office, and that she would find out whats happening, and said something about Birmingham (i think she said stuck in birmingham, but Im not sure) ... so she said she would have to ring the depot and find out where it was. Anyway, when I was speaking to Jason, he said he may be able to get it delivered to my work address, but couldnt promise anything, which I thought was fair enough. What I didn't think was fair was him not ringing me back, as I now have to have someone at each address whilst I wait for this other lady to get back to me to let me know where the blinking parcel is going! I should have known yesterday, like he said he would tell me!

Anyway, the lady has re-taken down my work address, my telephone details, and I am still waiting for a call.... over an hour has gone by.

Anyway, needless to say, my place of work uses TNT for their international packages, and I will be telling them of my troubles.

I do not think I will be ordering from the Apple Store again.

One Unhappy Customer.

Kind Regards,

Dean Steventon

Well still nothing.. I am so angry right now... it's not apple's fault this time (i think unless they put the wrong shipping label on it)

I have been back in contact with TNT as they still have not called me  and I got some snotty woman saying they will ring me as soon as they have any information.... ive been waiting four bloody days for information!!!!!!

I have now called apple, and they say they are dealing with it.

grrrrrrr

one VERY angry mac owner (and wound up)

Sounds like you've had it totally sucky from the People at Apple / TNT.

I found the opposite;

Yesterday, 2pm, I ordered a 20gb iPod from the uk store .ac.uk (.edu), and was told to expect to wait a week or so.

10am this morning, my pod arrived by courrier.

Maybe you could/should cancel the order totally and re-start? That tends to work for me with Amazon.co.uk orders; they see you cancelling, and suddernly items are back in stock!

How can I cancel an order that in apple's eyes has been fulfilled?? the lady signed for it, even though it wasn't hers, and TNT are being ar******es...

585908545

Forget about TNT... You are not their customer - you are Apples customer! Contact Apple and tell them to resolve it with TNT and then for Apple to call you back with a date / time of resolution.

Failing that tell them to give you a full refund and that you will buy a PC / other branded product instead!

Well I rang Apple again this morning.

They told me i can definately expect my goods by 25/05/05, which contradicts the email they sent me, which stated I wouldn't receive them until 11/06/05 at the earliest.

We'll see what happens, but if I don't have my goods by the 25th then i'm cancelling the order and lodging a complaint.

Thanks :)

It had better do, I have been on the phone whining to Apple too ;) I want a freebie!!!

585909109

how much was your purchase?

and they are putting you thru all this ****?

That is f***ing retarded and you know it. You should be screaming at apple. Don't be a pushover. You payed good money.

Well this is the situation now;

It'll be a month since I placed the order in 2 days, and I've still not received a thing.

You'll need to read my previous comments in the thread for this to follow on but, as I'd said Apple had re-ordered everything as it was confirmed lost. Well anyway, I received this email today:

Dear Mr. Allen,

Thank you for contacting the Apple Store.

Please note you are correct in your understand ing of the order and delivery. However the replaced P9829B/A    IPOD PHOTO 30G-PERSONALIZED-G is now trackable with TNT under consignment number XXXXXXXXX.

Please be advised that all four items on the order were set up for replacement originally but as new delivery information presented itself three of the items for replacement were reported found thus cancelled from the replacement;

M9868G/A  IPOD PHOTO DOCK KIT                                                        Cancelled

TA882LL/A  INCASE FOLIO CLICK WHEEL IPOD                                      Cancelled

M9394G/A  IN-EAR HEADPHONES-GEN                                                Cancelled

P9829B/A  IPOD PHOTO 30G-PERSONALIZED-G                                Shipped

This is referenced under issue number XXXXXXX and I am currently investigating with Logistics the delivery of the these three items. Should it be confirmed that these three items are in fact missing consignment I will be happy to set up a replacement for these three items.

I understand that you order is important to you and you require your goods as quickly as possible however please allow 72 hours for the duration of the Logistics investigation before a replacement if required to be set up.

I will contact you as soon as I receive an update regarding the enquiry.

Sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience.

In a previous email, they wanted me to confirm that I'd received the earphones, dock and case - which I haven't. So now - it looks as if I'll get the ipod late the week (fingers crossed  ), but it looks as if the dock, earphones and case are following suite with the iPod - i'll have to wait 3 days for them to realise they've lost them (lmao), then they'll re-reorder them again, so that's another 8 business days. And I don't want to use the iPod until I've got the case as theres no way I can scratch it.

Gotta be said, my patience is wearing thin with this now

Google has some bad news for those still using MV2-based extensions in Chromium-based browsers, particularly Chrome. The company is now removing flags responsible for Manifest V2-based extensions (uBlock Origin is one of the most popular). However, some browsers resist this change, and Opera issued a statement that it will allow users to continue using MV2 extensions for as long as possible. While Microsoft is still not ready to share new details about MV2 extensions in Microsoft Edge, the company shared important details about the way it will be updating the browser going forward. Now, Microsoft wants to update Edge every two weeks across all platforms instead of the current four-week schedule (only the Extended Stable is exempt from this change). This week, Microsoft confirmed a useful new Teams feature that is coming to the messenger soon. It also detailed all the improvements that made the platform better for users in 2026. He took for a spin the DWARF mini, the world's smallest smart telescope for night and day sky captures. It tracks objects in the sky, has a sun filter, and has a low learning curve. There is also nice build quality and a quite affordable price. Pulasthi Ariyasinghe reviewed 007 First Light. The game turned out to be a satisfying spy adventure in the James Bond universe with great gunplay and combat, impressive crowds, over-the-top action sequences, and more. • Microsoft Flight Simulator's City Update 15 enhances Midwest cities by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The third major city update of the year has landed for the original Microsoft Flight Simulator and the 2024 release. The latest drop is upgrading the visuals and regional accuracy of three metropolitan regions in the American states of Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The 15th city update is adding eight new areas of interest that have been enhanced with high-fidelity TIN (triangulated irregular network) surface texturing in the mentioned regions. The free update highlights Chicago, Elgin, Cicero, and Arlington Heights in Illinois, as well as Minneapolis, St. Paul, Bloomington, Duluth, Brooklyn Park, Woodbury, Lakeville, Plymouth, and Blaine in Minnesota. In Wisconsin, the development has also upgraded the lands and buildings of Milwaukee, Madison, and Racine. The update lands just as one of the world's largest enthusiast flight simulation conventions, FlightSimExpo, kicks off in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota, on June 14. The Flight Sim development team's 40-minute keynote at the event can be watched here. At the same time, Microsoft is bringing the 6-seat, single-engine, multi-use light civil airplane Piper M600 into the game as a part of its Expert Series 2 program. This premium plane can be purchased from the in-game marketplace for $24.99. City Update 15: The United States Midwest is now available in Microsoft Flight Simulator, as well as the newer Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, as an optional download. It can be accessed across Steam and the Microsoft Store for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, as well as Xbox and PC Game Pass subscriptions. Xbox One, mobile, and PC players can also jump into the new content using Xbox Cloud Gaming if they have a Game Pass Ultimate membership. The game must be updated to the latest version to download this free update from the in-game marketplace.
    • Five things you might have missed during Apple's WWDC 2026 by Aditya Tiwari Image: Apple Apple's annual developer event, WWDC 2026, happened from June 8 through June 12. We have already covered several new features and updates that the iPhone maker unveiled during the official keynote. Apple took Google's help and finally announced the upgraded Siri AI personal assistant, which now comes with an app. Moreover, a truckload of Apple Intelligence features took the center stage. That said, this year's WWDC is a bit different, and you might have noticed or missed the following stuff: Apple's ongoing unification of platforms Image: Apple One thing Apple is widely known for is its seamless hardware-software ecosystem. The company added a new chapter in 2020, when it began the Apple Silicon transition and launched macOS 11 Big Sur with native ARM support. Some major changes happened last year as well, when Apple renamed all of its operating systems to version 26 and introduced the Liquid Glass design language. Until WWDC 2025, Apple keynotes had dedicated segments for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and other operating systems, in which the company discussed each in detail. The WWDC 2026 keynote was different, and Apple allotted most of the screen time to Apple Intelligence and Siri. It didn't even publish separate press releases on its website for different operating systems. While it might seem surprising at first, it shows how Apple plans to move forward with its software ecosystem. Be it the Liquid Glass changes, child safety updates, or other features, they are mostly rolling out across multiple platforms. In other words, Apple is slowly blurring the line between its operating systems and achieving feature parity wherever possible. It's easy to rule out that someone in Apple's marketing team forgot to press the publish button. Everything is a calculated move when it comes to a company like Apple. Putting Apple Intelligence left, right, and center hints that the OS itself is no longer the product anymore. It's Siri, not Pepsi Time and again, various Apple products have been compared to unrelated things and turned into meme material. You might have heard about the "cheese grater" Mac Pro or the "trash can" Mac Pro, to name a few. It's Siri's turn this time. The upgraded AI assistant got a fresh logo, and people have started comparing it with Pepsi. There are other contenders, such as the Sony Ericsson logo and the Yin and Yang symbol. Shot on iPhone. Edited on Mac Image: Apple Apple has been putting the iPhone's camera muscles to the test on various occasions. Even NASA astronauts took it to Space earlier this year and captured some out-of-this-world photos. Recently, Apple TV streamed the first major live sporting event shot entirely on iPhone 17 Pro: an MLS match featuring the LA Galaxy vs. the Houston Dynamo FC. The 'Pro' iPhone has also been used to shoot Apple events in recent years. It's "Scary Fast" Mac event in 2023 was among the earliest attempts, and the tradition trickled down to the WWDC 2026 keynote, which ended with the tag line "Shot on iPhone. Edited on Mac." It's unsurprising to see Apple flexing the camera capabilities of its Pro models, especially when it has been baking professional-grade features, including ProRes RAW and Genlock. Hints for the foldable Apple has been sitting on the foldable iPhone for so long. There is still confusion over when the company will make it official. A recent report said that the iPhone Fold might get delayed as Apple is struggling to perfect its hinge mechanism. But Apple has been dropping hints here and there. A developer dug into the iOS 27 beta code and found internal references about device folding states. As verified by Macworld, the code includes references to "foldState" and "angleDegrees" internal status values, which are apparently designed to tell apps if a device is folded and at what angle. As of now, no other Apple device uses these states. The publication also found internal code suggesting Apple has been testing a device with both Touch ID and Dynamic Island, a combo that doesn't exist today. Last event as Apple CEO Image: Apple Tim Cook's bond with Apple is now almost three decades old, having started in 1998 as the SVP of Worldwide Operations. Back in August 2011, Steve Jobs stepped down as Apple CEO months before his passing, and Cook took charge. Now, the baton has been passed to the hardware chief, John Ternus, who will take over the role on September 1. WWDC 2026 is the last major Apple Event for Tim Cook as CEO. We have seen so much during Cook's tenure over the years, much of which defines Apple as we know it today. From new hardware product lines like Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple Vision Pro, and Apple Silicon, to boosting Apple's services business with Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple Pay, Apple Arcade, Apple Fitness+, Apple Care One, and more. That said, the first developer betas for Apple's latest operating systems are now available. You can check if your device is supported on iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, watchOS 27, and other platforms. What's your favorite feature that Apple announced this year at WWDC 2026? Tell us in the comments.
